I received this product for free as part of the HART Tools friends and family review program. Everything stated here is true and representative of my experience. I like the strength this shovel has. I have a lot of clay in my yard and this tool will dig right through it.
My old shovel snapped at the base. The way it was built there was no replacing the handle. So I was looking for something that wouldn't break easily. This shovel is built well. Thick gauge metal and a fiberglass handle that I'd guess would be very difficult to break.

I did alot of holes and the shovel can hold up against all the dirt I've put it up against. No bending in the shovel staff at all! Will continue using!

OK I go through a Lot of shovels and time will tell how long I take before I break this one lol but right now I absolutely love the fiberglass handle and the soft grips and where they're at on the handle. I love that it has large foot spots on the shovel to dig deep every time. I'm super excited to put this through the mill and get some things done this summer. One thing, though, when I received the shovel, some of the coating had already bubbled off during production, and the back portion was already rusted. Other than that I would recommend.

The metal split upon the first use. And only digging in dirt.
Bought this shovel two weeks ago. Its heavy duty looking and feels solid. Used it twice. Normal light digging. Second time using it the head of the shovel ripped in half. Not happy at all with my purchase. Going to attempt a return and will be buying something of better quality.
