This is a really nice toolbox that fits their STACK system. The drawer slides are metal, it comes with customizable dividers for the drawers, and the drawers are reinforced to keep the bottoms from bowing. The handle on top has a rubberized grip and there are handles built into the sides as well. The bar that holds the drawers on also has a hole for a padlock. Definitely a good buy in my opinion.
This is the second Hart tool that I've gotten, and I must say that I'm impressed. Hart is really earning my loyalty. This is only the two drawer unit--not the whole set. But after using this section, I wouldn't be surprised if I found myself purchasing the rest of the system in the future. The drawers include separators that do a great job at keeping small hardware apart from each other (see pic). What I love about the separators in this unit in particular is that the drawers are grooved in the bottom (see pic) along with the side walls. Unlike other similar units I've used in the past that only have grooves in the walls, these drawers have grooves at the bottom that really help keep everything stable. The drawers themselves are super smooth. The handle is great. Overall, just a great two drawer set for small hardware. The ONLY negative that I could find is that when the drawer is open and loaded with hardware, it becomes quite top heavy and tends to fall forward. I wouldn't necessarily call this a flaw. I'm not sure there's anything Hart could do to prevent it. Just something to be aware of. If it was hooked into the whole system, you probably wouldn't run into this issue. Overall, yes, you should consider this product!
The Hart Stack System Two Drawer Unit, Small Tool and Parts Storage, Black with Blue Accents happens to be a well organized unit. The set comes with multiple dividers for the recommended configuration or customizable to your own needs. I like the materials which are sturdier than I thought it would be, all a coated plastic, and strong enough for me to use to sit on while it was empty. The 2 drawers happen to be fairly large and to me is easier to use and organize than a tool bag allowing for better and quicker access to what you need without having to dig around. It has a strong flip down handle on top and a nice lock panel to keep the drawers in place when moving. This is a modular system so more of the same unit can be added on top to form a tower full of drawers or there are many different additions including a base with rolling wheels like a hand truck. I've used hart products before and have rarely been let down. It's a well done well designed product. I highly recommend this unit as a stand alone portable tool storage as well as the brand itself.
This is definitely the perfect size toolbox and easily travels in any vehicle or around the house. The material feels very durable and the carrying handle has a rubberized grip for easy handling. This tool box has some weight to it without any tools in it and once filled with the tools needed could be a little more heavier and a little harder to carry around. Each one of the drawers comes with the custom size dividers to keep each tool to be used in its own compartment. It has definitely become my go to tool box and I keep particular tools I use on a regular basis in it and never have to rummage through the larger tool box for the things I use on a regular basis.
This is a rugged 2 drawer system that can stack on other units to create a mobile tool chest. The drawers have customizable dividers. Part of a modular storage system that can be wheeled around if need be. Thick plastic means that it is rugged and will not break easily. Comes with a 3 year warranty.
The versatility of this two drawer storage unit is straightforward and simple. Although this can be part of a modular, stackable storage system, it has been perfect for me to use as a stand-alone piece. It is a completely customizable organizer with removable, multi-configuration dividers. The option to remove and rearrange the inner boxes makes storage options almost endless. I am using mine as a tool box. Before receiving this, I had tools and supplies crammed all over the house in random drawers and closets. Now all of my tools are tucked all inside this one box, with room for even a few more. The box has two secure drawers with a locking strip and it is easily transportable with fold-down carry handle that recesses into the top of the box to ensure the top remains flat. That makes it great for stacking other things on top of it as it would remain level. Other tool boxes often have raised handles that make this impossible. But there are so many uses for this unit, so do not limit yourself to just tools. It is a great product for a home owner looking to organize virtually anything and also be able to move around when needed. It is very durable unit made out of sturdy hard plastic and to me it is very premium looking and feeling. The blue/black gives it a modern, masculine flare. Also, being able to lock the drawers is an added bonus in case you are storing more valuable items. I really like that the drawers are on rollers that glide open and closed so super smooth. And it is two drawers that pull open from the front, it does not open from the top like it looks like it might. Just by the design of it, each time I went to use this in the beginning I made the mistake of expecting to flip open a lid from the top. LOL.
I‘ve ordered other Hart products in the past and have generally found that they provide good quality at a reasonable price. This latest item is no exception. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of this tool box when it arrived at my door. Don’t be deterred by the plastic construction - this unit is heavy duty and sturdy. The overall dimensions of the box are 19” wide x 13” deep x 9.5” high. Each drawer measures 14.25” x 11” with a depth of 2.75”. It’s nice that the drawers pull out all the way (no digging in the back part of the drawer to find what you’re looking for). The supplied dividers provide nice flexibility for drawer organization – you can use as few or as many as you like depending on your needs. There’s a simple latching mechanism on the front to keep the drawers from accidentally sliding opening during transport. The empty unit weighs in at about 10 lbs. and I can’t help but wonder how heavy it would be once it’s loaded with heavier items like hand tools. The beefy fold down handle seems like it will easily hold up no matter how heavy the contents. This box can be stacked and attached to other Hart Stack modular units (sold separately) to tailor an overall configuration to suit your particular needs. Hart offers a 3 year limited warranty, but my overall impression is that this sturdy storage/tool box will serve my needs for many, many years to come. Like they say, you can never be too rich, too thin or TOO ORGANIZED.
These are designed to be stacked and latched together. By itself, this two-drawer unit is likely to tip over when a loaded drawer is opened. Stacked and latched with other loaded units, it's less likely to tip if a full drawer is opened. Opening multiple drawers at the same time could still tip it over. At first I put some pliers and wrenches in it, then realized it's not designed for heavy tools. It works fine with lighter items. This is not your Grandpa's toolbox and it probably won't become a family heirloom. Each drawer is about 10.75 x 14" without dividers, and about 2.25" deep. With all the included dividers, it can have nine compartments, each about 3.25 x 4.5", or fewer larger ones. I recommend it if you have a use for this type of storage and organization, and if the price is right. This system can be equipped with wheels and a handle, so that it can be pulled around a job site. For most of my uses, large heavy-duty steel tool cabinets, with lots of drawers, might be a better choice, but wouldn't be as portable, and would cost a lot more.
i serts were missing
Upon first seeing this storage box it appears surprisingly substantial. It’s made of some heavy plastic material and measures 18” x 13” x 9”. That’s a volume of 2106 cubic inches. Remember that. Then you notice this box is very heavy. So I weighed it and the EMPTY box is 10 lb. The next surprise was that this isn’t made in China, but in Israel. The box has 2 drawers that fully pull out in the front. The drawers are held in place with a vertical lock bar that has a hole for a pad lock. Inside one of the drawers was a pack of dividers for creating small compartments in the drawers. These dividers create nine 4.5” x 3.25” compartments in each drawer. On the top front of the box there are two blue sliders, which at first glance seem like latches to open the box top. Since there were no instructions that came with the box I tried to find information online and got absolutely nothing. On the manufacturer’s website (harttools) this box doesn’t exist. You also can’t find it on the Walmart site if you search for it. So, I resorted to Google, which found an entry on Walmart.com for an “out of stock” item that looks like this storage box, but with different dimensions and weight. So, it appears that this Hart storage box (model 249738) is a discontinued item. I discovered that the box top is sealed and cannot be opened. That’s a 2 inch space above the top drawer that cannot be accessed or used! The two blue things on top of the box turned out to be holders to lock in another Hart storage box placed on top of this one. This box is supposed to be a part of a stacked storage system. I said above that the volume of this box is 2106 cubic inches. The available storage space within the two drawers is only 822 cubic inches. That’s only 39% of the entire box volume. So, you have a huge and very heavy box that’s not even half usable. But it gets worse. I tried to remove the drawers, but could not because they are locked into place. This means if a small part should fall out of the back of a drawer into the box cavity you’re not getting it out, and then you probably won’t be able to fully close a drawer because the item is lodged behind it. Now let’s get back to the 10 lb box weight: If I were to fill each of the 4.5” x 3.25” x 2.5” compartments with nuts, bolts and washers the entire box would weight 65 lb. That’s ridiculous. This box filled with tools in practically too heavy for manual transport. So, is it inended to promote the sale of the Hart hand cart, without which this box is impractical? What about putting this on a shelf or desktop? Again, it would be too heavy for any typical shelf in a garage. On a workbench it would take up too much valuable space for its useful capacity. I don’t get it. I don’t understand the purpose or intended utility of this storage box with so much wasted space and material. This product is a poorly conceived, poorly designed and horribly executed item. Do not recommend it.
