My son got 2 of these for us to have Nerf wars. The battery powered flywheels propel the darts a good 20 feet -- and you can shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger (but this means you can empty your gun in about 5-6 seconds; it is pretty easy to reload). Great for younger kids that might not be able to fire other Nerf guns as well. It can jam, but it seems much more reliable than the Vulcan EBF-25 (and it is much easier for little kids to handle). I think this is a good value in a Nerf gun -- battery powered for easy shooting and still under $20 (and it uses cheap AA batteries instead of expensive D cells). It is kind of loud -- the flywheels hum pretty good (you'll have to wait to turn the gun on if you want to ambush somebody ;-)
I have two of these, they work great. Since it has battery powered flywheels to propel the darts you don't have to c0ck between each shot. So you can shoot all ten darts in about six seconds. They go twenty feet or so. You'll get more distance out of normal alkalines than rechargables (which have a lower voltage). The only other automatic or semi-automatic Nerf blasters are the Vulcan and the Stampede which are the biggest of the blasters (and most pricey).
I bought this one night for myself because I enjoyed this kind of stuff. As I arrived home, to remove it from the packaging, when I fired a dart, I got a maximum distance of 2 feet. I followed the instructions, but nothing could fix a faulty Nerf gun. I would NOT recommend this! Save your $20!
