I bought this scale because it was inexpensive and had some good features. When it arrived I tried it and was really amazed at how many features it had. It measures your fat content, weight, BMI, water content, bone mass and it stores your previous weigh-ins so that you can keep track of your progress. There are also four buttons allowing for four different people to use all of the features of the scale. I highly recommend this scale to anyone who is weight conscious! :)
As any knows who has attempted dieting and exercise, that a feeling of failure is looming when you don't see the lbs. falling off even with a real attempt to do the right thing. With this piece of equiptment, you'll see the pounds may fluncate but it will continue to show the body fat percentage decreasing, which is an inspiration to continue to diet and exercise. Muscle weighs more pounds than fat cells. I will use this as I battle the bulge.
This is a very good scale. It is not difficult to use at all, it looks very nice and holds tons of informaion. I dont understand how anyone could have difficulty using it, if you READ the instructions and do as it tells you to do, it works great!
In the last 6 years I've tried 4 different brands of scales and this one is my favorite! I bought this scale 3 or 4 years ago and I LOVE it! I am very obsessive about my weight, checking it every day, 3-4 times per day and this scale has always been accurate and informative. I can weigh myself 5 or 6 times in a row and I always get the same number! With the use and abuse that I've put this scale through I really am amazed it is still functioning. The batteries even lasted over 2 years before I had to replace them (and keep in mind that's me weighing myself several times throughout EVERY day). It finally died today, when the leg with the weight chip broke off, so I'm going to go buy another one. I wouldn't think of using any other brand/style! There are previous reviews that mention that the body fat percentage is off, but I don't find that to be true at all. It is possible to be a "fat, thin person". For example, if you are 5'3" and weigh 120 lbs but the scale says you have 30% body fat, that's nothing to freak out about. It just means that even though you're a healthy weight, you need to work on toning up & replacing the unwanted fat with muscle. I hope all of that makes sense and helps with the confusion.
I have had many different types of scales for many years and this has been the best and the most accurate one that I have ever had. It can save up to 4 different people settings (the most I have see so far) It covers the most important health concerns, along with your Body Weight -- Body Fat Composition, Body Mass Index, Bone Mass and Body Hydration. With the, up too 4 persons, tracking your progress to set your weight goal and calculating the weight differences between your starting point, your previously saved weight and your set weight goal. One issue that I have with it is the instructions are not very clear on what you should do. What I found works is after you set up each persons settings. Pick a time in the day (the best time would be right after you get up and go the bathroom then weigh yourself. Click on your number, say one, and when the scale shows 0.0 stand on the scale and stand still The next screen you will see will be your weight, do not get off yet, weight for the next screen will show your weight again along with your Body Fat in the lower right corner, do not get off yet, when the next screen come up, this will show your Bone Mass instead of your weight. At this time get off the scale and press the SELECT button to save your data. Now you can use the up and down arrows to look at your data. If you do not save your data it will be lost for good. So as far as the instructions go if you just skip instruction (A) and follow instruction (B) (the instruction I just gave you above)you will be able to review everything the scale will do for you. One more thing the instruction do not cover is what does the Bone Mass number you get mean. The instructions only say that it measures the weight of bone or amount of mineralized tissue in the bone in your body. It does not tell you if this number is good or bad or low or high or what to do with this number. The instructions go over a lot of information about Bone Mass but nothing about what this number it give you really means. I have look all over the Web with not getting help with understanding what this number still means. My guess is that this number is a % of your total weight is your Bone Mass but I could be wrong. Other then this, I still think this is a very good product and will help my family work toward our goals of weight management.
I shopped around for a decent digital scale that had the feature set I wanted (body fat, BMI, bone mass, the water % was extra) and they all ranged around the same price. I picked this one after a horrible experience with another scale. This scale does the job, easy to program, and is pretty accurate. It looks decent, but it's just a tad too big in my opinion. Also, when you go and pick it up, it feels a bit flimsy with the plastic construction and backing but if you just leave it on the floor, you can't really tell. Still, it does what I need it to do and hopefully, this thing will last me a good few years. Improvements: metal casing, slightly smaller, lithium cells instead of AAA battery, longer display time (repeat 2 or 3x) then shut off
My husband just stepped on it 3x and got 3 different weights more than 2lbs apart. The features are great tho.
Don't waste your money on this product because this weight scale is inaccurate. I didn't expect it to be exactly as in the doctor's office (maybe 5 lbs off or so), but the variations were so irrational, that I'm returning it to the store. The features look great, but if you want to check your weight accurately, find some other product that delivers what it promises. It looks fancy, and I read the reviews before making a decision. However, sometimes the variation was 15 pounds off, sometimes 9, at other times 12lbs (and that's on the same day!).
Tried this scale on every flat surface in my home it’s so inaccurate that my 265-pound actual weight fluctuated from 250 to 280 lbs every time I used it. I don’t know if my floors aren’t flat, or I’m too tall at 6’5” for this scale to work properly, or if it’s just broken. I know I need to lose some weight that’s why I bought the darn scale but I don’t want to a statistical rolling line graph every day to figure out my weight, that’s not worth the effort. It seems like it has a lot of features but I didn’t get to try them out as my weight readings were so wildly inaccurate. Will be returning this scale tomorrow hopefully to get something that works better.
I bought this scale this weekend as an upgrade from my other one. I thought it would be a good scale to get since it tells you fat, water and bone %, and it keeps track of your weight loss/gain. I also figured that if i was paying close to $40 for a scale ($39 after taxes) it should be a rather good scale. WRONG! i used it in my bathroom, which has a sturdy hard linoluim floor and stepped on 4 consecutive times. It gave me 4 different readings! and they werent even within 5-10 lbs of eachother! i got an 80 lb difference in one of the readings! it was awful. i then stepped on my older digital scale and it gave me the same reading everytime. Definately returning this scale and sticking to my old one, since THAT ONE doesnt lie to me. i would NOT recommend this to anyone.
