I like the short-oval shape and bright red color of these: easy to swallow, and easy to identify in my pill cup. At my age, I take SO MANY pills, it's good to have one that's so distinctive that I can think back, "Did I take my CoQ10 already? Oh...yes, I remember!" As a gelatin capsule, of course it tends to stick together in humid climates. That's why I buy the 30-count bottle: by the end of the month, they're getting a little hard to separate, especially in summer. I try to fill at least one weekly pill-minder at a time so I don't have to open it so often. I can't speak to the effectiveness, because I've never taken statins without CoQ10. When my husband was prescribed statins for his heart, he started having muscle pains, I got on the internet and found that statins can cause that, and CoQ10 can prevent it. So I got him some, and over time they went away. I told his doctor about it (bright young thing fresh out of med school) and she'd never heard of it...but when I myself needed statins, she told me to take CoQ10 with them!
