Had this about a week and I love it so far. I was able to get a snow blower, power washer, stroller and shop vac off the garage floor which has reduced the clutter. I would recommend getting a friend or 2 to help with the install, but I did it myself in a few hours. I'm also considering purchasing a cheap 1/2" drill for raising the platform. It take a bit of effort by hand.
Product was delivered on time and installed with no problems. I have a Hobie Pro Angler Kayak and it really works great for lifting above my cars in the garage.
I love this recor, it comes in handy for removing, and installing my rubicon jk 4 door hard top.

I purchased this unit to store my 12' kayak above my vehicles in my garage. The lift works flawlessly. With a little patience and planning, I was able to install the lift in about 4 hours (taking my time along the way). It handles my 200lb. kayak and related gear easily. I use my cordless drill with the provided attachments and the system is effortless. I reinforced the metal grate platform with a piece of pre-cut 4'x4' half inch plywood just to be sure it could handle the load - no problems!
Don't waste time on ladders and overheads. This hoisting rack does exactly as advertised and saves a ton of wasted time and energy.
my only negative about it is that the directions were not very detailed, so I had to make some assumptions with the assembly. We purchased 2 of them and overall they work great, exactly as advertised, we were in need of some easy, accessible storage and this fit the bill. I have since ordered 2 more. My advice is to get a cordless drill dedicated to it, I tried using the hand crank once OMG.
I just installed the lift in my garage to take off and store the removable top of my Wrangler Unlimited. The only negative for this product is the instructions. They are not very clear or spelled out at times but, overall, was not to difficult to install. It seems to be work ok so far but it's only been installed for 2 weeks.
The base support rails attach to the platform using J-bolts. This odd design decision allows the support rails to twist outward a bit. I store some light lumber pieces using this unit and the slight twist in the support rails appears to weaken the platform. I have far less than 250 lbs. evenly distributed on the platform, yet the twisted support rails sag in the middle between the cables. I do not believe the unit will fail, but it does make me a little nervous walking under it and parking my car under it. I may replace the entire platform with something a little more sturdy at some point. With that said, it was easy to install and does the job. There aren't many ready-made alternatives for a hide-away storage platform like this and certainly not at this price.
