I purchased this knife set on Black Friday to replace a set of Henkel knives my husband and I got for a wedding gift 31 years ago. They did not disappoint! Beautiful set and the storage block is gorgeous and quite BIG. Be sure you have the counter space to accommodate it! This set will be the last set of knives I will ever have to buy. I am a happy cook! 😊❤️
The self-sharpening knife block is great and works well. The only complaint is that I've only had the knives a couple of months and there are weird spots on some of the blades, almost like rust spots but I don't think it's rust. I ALWAYS hand wash with mild dish soap and NEVER put them in the dishwasher. The knives are VERY sharp so take care when using.
Love the knifes, beautiful set but the knife blades themselves keep spotting like stains on them. We cannot figure out what is causing the problem. We hand wash to take better care of them but the spotting will not go away. We really enjoy the sharpness of them. Everything would be perfect if it wasn't for the stains.
Although I love how sharp the knives are and easy to use they do not live up to the description. After the first use in the dishwasher they started to RUST. These are supposed to be of high quality and for the price I paid they should not rust. I have a cheaper set that has never rusted in the dishwasher after years of use. Don't buy this product unless you don't mind seeing RUST on them every time you use them. Theya are NOT dishwasher safe and still RUST after handwashing.
The knives cut like butter and the set is beautiful, however they rust easily, specifically the steak knives and the grooves where the teeth are. I don't let my knives soak in water, but I have left them in the sink until the next morning to wash them. Well you can do that with these, found that out the first use. I would also recommend drying immediately after washing and not letting them air dry. My previous set of knives was a kitchen aid set that I got on sale for between $40-50, and had originally been like an $60-80. That set lasted a decade and I would still have it, but the handles had been silicone/rubber and it was degrading. So I decided to spend a little extra money since I love cooking and good knives go a long way. In the end I am disappointed with the cost vs the quality!
I purchased as a Christmas gift for my Husband. It is now 4 months old and already has rust marks and the color is coming off very disappointing.
The knives are beautiful. The block defective. I reached out to customer service before Christmas and received an autobot ticket number. No real response or resolution since. They've been heavily advertising on Facebook, so I reached out there, as well, as they seemed to respond to comments. Again, crickets. Very disappointed. It's clearly a manufacturing flaw (one of the knife slots is too shallow).
I really wanted love theses. I purchaed both the 20 piece and 14 piece sets on Black Friday. However, when I opened the 20 piece set, more than half the nives were scratched and had nicks on them... as though they had already been used(see photos). I received the 14 piece set a few days later... And they were perfect! No weird scratches or anything, even the block was beautiful. I bought the 20 piece set for myself and the 14 piece set as a gift for my mama. I'm so very disappointed now since Im returning the 20 piece set and wont be able to replace them since they're no longer on sale.
I purchased these knives on sale during Black Friday and after ONE use, there was rust. I read the description and it was clearly stated “dishwasher safe”. So, I began handwashing, with all natural soap. More rust. I reached out to the manufacturer and I was told to use baking soda, vinegar and lemon to remove rust. As a customer I should not have to use baking soda, vinegar and lemon to clean rust off of a product that sits at $500 after ONE use. The manufacturer markets these knives as stainless steele. “Stainless” being in the title. What they fail to mention is that these particular knives are made out of a lower quality stainless, such as 304L when they should use a higher quality alloy such as 316L - at least. For the price, I would never recommend these knives to anyone. Sure, the self sharpening block is nice, but it's made out of a cheap wood, so any knife block would suffice. I would be embarrassed to charge someone $500 and stand behind this product.
The knives fit sloppy into the block. So they probably are not sharpening correctly. I have sharper old knives than these. Then after the first use the large butcher knife has rust in a small area close to the handle. Plan on returning them. So new I haven't even registered them
