I've had one of these before, it lasted 30yrs! I guess things quit working at some point , I hope this one lasts as long. They are exactly the same except the color, I preferred my tan to this green. I got it within a few days and the shipping was free. Satisfied so far, it's working great, I've used it a lot.
Good meter for checking moisture. At $5.99 could not beat the price. Got another brand that cost more, but did not work better. The other meter's tip broke when I hit a rock or something in the ground. So be careful when you put the meter in the ground and I recommend pulling it out by the rod to be safe. My plants were too wet, so it was a good investment to keep from drowning my plants.
Works great just don't leave it in the soil. Take it out and clean it until ready to use again.
A bit expensive, but couldn't find anywhere locally. Shipping slower than I'd like but have it now and putting it to good use.
I have been using a moisture meter for decades and can't even remember the last time that any of my plants died. The number one reason for houseplant failure is overwatering. I'm only buying another because I gave the one I had to my sister.
Neatest little thing I could have hoped for however after a few uses the probe pulled out of the meter box and broke the little wire, rendering it useless. The probe should be fastened solid to the meter box so that it cannot pull apart!
I removed it from the package Walked out to the lawn and inserted the probe into the ground. I read the meter pulled it out and the tip was missing? This happened on the first try.
The day I received this, I was excited because I have several large plants and I felt this would be a great help. The first plant, I stuck the probe into the potted soil and it read it just fine as it did on the second plant. BUT, when I used it on the third plant, it completely pulled apart! I tried putting it back together and using it again, but it keeps pulling apart!
It barely registers in the dirt. In a glass of water it goes up halfway. I think it's no good.
Do not waste your money on this product. Seemed like such a good deal that we bought 2 of them. The first time we put them in the ground, the metal tube pulled out from the top and broke the sensor wires off. Very disappointing.
