When you grab this tool it seems to feel right in your hand . It has the feel of being well built . It performs well for the little I have used it as of yet . It will get a better test later this summer .
After researching several framing nailers, I chose the Hitachi NR90AD due to its excellent history in the field with my local contractors. Big Boxes sell other brand names at lower prices, but for a few bucks more, I upgraded to something I knew would perform with very low risk of future problems. So far, the unit has performed without failure, and has provided me with quick and accurate nail placement, no failed or jammed loads, and easy maintenance. I have undertaken a large renovation project in my home, and for the past 4 months, the NR90AD has not let me down, saving me time, and performing the job efficiently and effectively. Highly recommend to anyone looking to purchase a framing nailer that will be around for years to come. Don't settle for the big box savings, spend a little extra, (it isn't much more), and you will have a product that everyone will want to borrow, instead of you needing to borrow someone else's nailer!
So far I've had Great luck with Numerous Hitachi tools I've purchased. I have learned the Hard way on some of this Dewalt and Black and Decker tools . Big Names but some of Their products just haven't panned out for Me. Thanks for Doing a Great Job with Your Tools.
I've only had this product a few weeks to work on an outdoor shed and it has performed great. No problems. Versatility is nice since it shoots many different types of nails. I think if I treat this product well it should last a long time.
I have not had this tool for that long , but I have used it quite a bit since I bought it. It has the power to sink 3 1/2" nails in LVLs. It will hold 5 clips of nails and is very easy to load. Its light and comfortable to use. Its a well built tool.
I have only had on 1 house remodle. It works great so far. Only shot 1 box of nails. Much better than old gun. I really like the way it handles & shoots. I would buy another.
I've been a long-time Stanley-Bostitch user, and have been a bit disappointed in their F28-ww model, which replaced the N80SB. The F28-ww does not seem to be as durable as the prior model, and it is my understanding that all manufacturing has been moved overseas. I cannot comment on durability of the NR90AF, as I just haven't owned it long enough. But, so far I am happy with my purchase. Received recommendations from other contractors to try Hitachi. Time will tell whether I purchase additional guns.
I like the manual & auto switch, first setting up & then go back & nail so it won't get away! I am building my rafters in my garage for a sugar shack. I was looking for a inexpensive framing nailer that goes the distant in between projects.
I say just walls because my experience with use on the trusses. It jammed the first day as I was firing on ridge blocks. It just wasn't able to pass through the gusset and from then on it was a guaranteed jam every time. I believe it might have to do with the strength of the piston material. And yes I aimed the gun to shoot through a hole in the gusset but the one on the other side jammed it. I hope this helps in your decision.
Bought for a home remodel project as well as future projects (home, cabin). First framing nailer and was very happy with the performance to date. Life is so much easier!!
