I was so thrilled to be asked to review this animated dear until I got to the assembly. In all fairness the instructions were o.k. (just to get the parts removed from one another) . I wasn't sent enough "m clips" so therein lies injenuity. The "m clips" were made too small. They were very difficult to hold and to clip to the deer base. If they would have made better m clips there would be no negative review for this animated deer. My take is to use the m clips on securing the front legs. On the picture I supplied I circled in red where to put those m clips. Use on both front legs and attach to the base. Once the front legs are secured then the back legs will be stable. The deer moves it's head up and down very nicely and the movement is silent. I also recommend guiding the electrical cord thru the middle of the body out thru the back legs. (just looks better). In conclusion, I would recommend this deer for anybody's Christmas display. The m clips are not a deal breaker.
This buck is the cutest ever! His head moves slowly when plugged in and it very well lit. He is made of white steel wire with white mini lights completely covering the wire. He takes about 10 minutes to put together using the directions provided. You need a quiet place to put this together so you can think through where everything is, but not hard at all to figure out, as directions are to the point and very clear. He is very well made and quite sturdy after you put the metal pins on his legs to fasten securely into the ground. He is three feet long and four feet high at his longest points. I also got the doe to go with the buck. They make a darling couple and look so serene. We plan to put them in front of our house by some large trees behind the white nativity scene we have for the Christmas holidays. This buck would be a lovely addition to anyone's holiday decorations and I highly recommend it.
To start, I'll admit that I've always wanted one of these animated light up Christmas decor bucks (and doe) when I was younger. They catch your attention as your driving by a house that has them on their front lawn, along with the lights all around.. so I am happy to now own it for this coming holiday. That said I will try and be as non biased as I can. Upon first receiving my package there was some slight damage to the carton but after inspection it did not seem that any internals were affected. It folds up pretty nice and neatly for storage, and while set up, is pretty simple. Take your time the first time around as it could become frustrating if you dont know what your doing, to avoid possibly breaking any bulbs or damage to the wire.. it does feel like it's a good quality piece, The full motion of the head is good, and lights are very bright. It comes with U shaped stakes that will help to keep it standing up, and extra bulbs aswell. All in all with the ability to fold back up to slip in the box i think its a great piece. At the price point it has really good value, and we can't wait until the holidays come so we could bring them back out! I would certainly recommend, I think its definetly worth the purchase at the price point, even slightly above that id still be comfortable with it. Thanks, hope this helps!
The animated Buck looks really nice set up. What I really enjoy is the animated part of it and it's head moves back and forth, which is so cool. It was not to hard at all to assemble, i thought it was pretty easy. It is made very nice and sturdy. It just looks so amazing and beautiful when its all set up and the lights are on. I am looking forward to Christmas to finally be able to set him up all the way and enjoy the beautiful animation that it has. I would definitely recommend, awesome Buck.
I got the animated doe and buck to add to my holiday reindeer herd that sits in front of the house each season. My older ones don't move, so the added head animation is a nice addition without being too much. The lights that come with these deer are traditional incandescent bulbs. They are not LED! That being said, some were already broken when I opened the box. Luckily, there were some replacement ones included. The deer was easy to unfold and figure out how to connect. It folded back up just as easily, but not so easily that it fit back into the box correctly.
My hunter husband had to have this buck. It looks great! The assembly directions were good; it just needs to be unfolded and then insert some parts and attach a couple of clips to hold it together. The buck takes 20 seconds to go through his side to side head movement- fun to watch. I have only had this a couple of weeks so I don't know if it will rust. It requires a GFI outlet and is appropriate for seasonal use only- label says to unplug it at bedtime. I also have the doe- they seem to each need their own extension cord because even though the lights have an open outlet, the outlet is not polarized so the buck and doe cannot connect together. I am glad the yard stakes for the buck are stronger than those of the doe because his side to side movement makes him less stable. Extra parts (bulbs, fuses, clip) are included. A plastic part attached to the motor was broken when I took it out of the box, but a bit of glue fixed everything.
This buck is a nice decoration. There are a couple pieces, like the antlers, that I wish would stay in place better, but overall, it's nice (especially considering the price). It's relatively easy to set up and take down, and I LOVE that it folds back up and can fit back in the box for storage. It's a very good size and can be seen well from the road. It's lit up very well and looks great!
As a Walmart Spark Reviewer I wanted to share my honest opinion on this Animated Deer Christmas decoration. It is just as good as most of them out there, but has an additional benefit in that the head moves, but also a bit of a downer in that it uses regular old style Christmas lights and not newer LED bulbs which is why I deducted one star. The decoration comes in the standard sized box for this type of deer decoration, but you need to pay attention when removing it as you may have a difficult time getting it back in the box otherwise. Lights are more of a warm white and not cool light also. It comes with U type ground anchors which should hold it in place based on my experience using them. It is of standard weight as well and should stay in place where you display it. Hope this review helped.
We have both the doe and the buck, the doe looks great and had no issues with her, however the buck has a broken wire on one side, so that side does not light up at all and neither does his little tail. On the whole, this buck is larger than i expected, his head moves from side to side like he is looking both ways. Again you must stake him into the ground or he will tip when he turns his head, he comes with large metal stakes to hold him into the ground. We really love this buck but not sure what happened to the wires, it looks like the wire was never attached its was just hanging loose so I am disappointed that I couldn't see him all lit up. Enclosed is a picture you will notice he is not as brightly lit as the doe, but they make a great pair and look great. We wanted to see how they would look for the holiday so we put them together and plugged them in , in the back yard and we were very happy with how they look. We are looking forward to decorating the front yard this year we these deers.
This Buck is so cute, for the price point it can't be beat for a beautiful holiday decoration. The only reason for the 4 stars is that I found the directions a little challenging. Perhaps that is user error but it took longer than I expected. However, having said that, I would still recommend this item for purchase. It's extremely light weight for handling but will require the included stakes to keep it down. I was very impressed with this decoration. Also, the instructions stated to remove the plastic wrap carefully to not damage any lights, my Buck didn't come with a plastic wrap. Thankfully all the lights worked. Again, I highly recommend if you are looking to add some decor to your yard for the holiday season and at very reasonable price point.
