We've used this humidifier in the living room all winter and it works great. Everyone that comes to visit comments on it and wants to get one. It's nearly silent and you know its working when you see the mist shooting out the top. It is much better than the noisy fan type humidifier with the big sponge filters inside that you have to keep replacing at $20 a piece. It holds a ton of water and we probably fill it every other day from the kitchen sink, it helps to have a high faucet because the tank is tall.
I loved it for the first two months it worked great then started to turn itself off after a few minutes and now it simply doesn't turn on period, I mean period and at best it's consistent with more of the same (not working) in no way had it met nor exceeded my expectations on any levels. Do not purchase, it's the worst thing on the market
I received this as a gift a little over a year ago. At first I absolutely loved it. It worked great, was quiet and I liked the option of warm or cool mist. After a month or so it started to leak all over the floor and I had to put a few towels down to keep the floor dry underneath. I had it put away for summer and used it a few times already this fall and now it won't even turn on. Convenient since it's just outside of the warranty coverage. My brother has the same unit and his did the same thing so I know I didn't receive a defective unit.
We bought two of these. Like the previous reviewer we initially were very happy with this model. It had every feature we wanted. Then, as previous reviewer mentioned, one of our two started leaking horribly all over our wool carpet and ruined it. The other unit didn't leak but it just quit working. Sometimes we can get it on again but it won't stay on for more than a minute. Fortunately ours fell apart so quickly we're still able to return them. We're terribly disappointed and for the expense would advise others to save their money and buy something else.
I did not want to listen to the other reviews so I ordered one, in less than a week it started to make a big noise inside and now it stops working after a few minutes, same problem as all the other reviewers stated, this will go back.
