This is a wonderful evaporative cooler for the price! The setup was incredibly easy, literally take it out of the box, fill with water and plug in and it's ready to go. The instructions state that it works best if you set it up next to an open window and leave your bedroom door open. They don't lie, I did just that and it feels great in my room, a nice comfy 75 wind blowing at me with the water included. Without the water, the fan still feels great too, just less cool. I live in Denver so it's very dry here, this thing works great for me but if you live in humid climates, it will most likely just feel like a fan to you and you are better off with a window unit. It's only hot here about 3 months out of the year so this is perfect. Only downside for me was the fill tank. It's accessed through that back shelf thing and you pour water in there and it leads to a bigger reservoir down below. I would almost just prefer for the reservoir to open like the shelf and pour the water straight in from there but that is a very little peeve. If you live in a dry, hot climate and need some reprieve from the heat, especially during covid when you can't go anywhere, buy this asap!

We live up in the high desert of Cali where there is very little humidity and this cooler has worked fantastic. It cools of the bedroom so my wife can sleep far more comfortably without having to turn the A/C on and run up our electric bill. It even helps out a lot during the day and saves us from turning the A/C on earlier in the day. Of course because of it's size it is hard pressed to help with the 110 degree days, but it does help with how soon we have to run the A/C.
It was so amazingly easy it practically came already assembled all I had to do was pick an area for it then just add the water and set my dial and let the clean air
It did not cool my room. i love the compact design. I just did not like how you had to add water through a small square shape hole. It made adding water very tedious. And i could not fit any reusable ice packs into the small whole so i had to use ice from my fridge.
Machine needs to be refilled at least 2-3 times during day. Since needs to be near an open window, have to place on a table in front of window. Not able to run during night as might run out of water.
I was hoping for more from these. while they worked they actually worked quite well. not amazing but they kept the ends of the house "manageable" during 104' F days. Sadly they both lasted about 5 days. on both of them the water pump that runs the evaporative system failed (stopped pumping) one died in 4 days the other one died the next day on day 5. we never let them run low. I am not sure if its just a poor designed low quality pump or if the hard water killed them? in 5 days? sadly have to return both. not sure if I am willing to risk trying again. if only 1 died I would chalk it up to bad luck but both dying in nearly the same short time indicated buyer beware to me.
This only puts moisture in the air. It does not cool the air at all. Needs to be refilled constantly. Filter gets dirty quickly and is a hassle to clean. A piece of junk.
First off this item is not made by Honeywell! Honeywell sold the rights to a 3rd party Jmatek who does not represent the Honeywell brand well at all. This Honeywell Swamp Cooler will regularly start leaking and expel all 5 gallons onto your floor. My hardwood floors are completely and totally ruined. Being that I had no longer had a receipt and it had been longer than 30 days I reached out to Honeywell for support because there name is on the unit. Honeywell offered zero help or support instead referring me to Jmatek and mentioning hopefully they would make an exception for me. $300 wasted on this swamp cooler and an entire room of hardwood floors. I have no recourse in getting my money back and Jmatek will only discuss replacing the unit. But, I have seen multiple reviews about the leaking issue so a replacement is no good. I am out $300 dollars and Honeywell refuses to help in the slightest. Do not make the same mistake I did. Buy any other swamp cooler, just not a Honeywell!
This Honeywell Indoor Portable Evaporative Air Cooler is useless, a fan gives you more cool air than this thing. Honeywell should give these away for free and I still don't think people will use it.
