The Honeywell 2100 CFM outdoor portable evaporative cooler is an ideal choice to keep outdoor environments comfortably cool and breezy. Evaporative air coolers offer an energy efficient cooling option when the air is hot with low humidity, such as desert areas like the southwestern United States (recommended humidity level is 60% or less for maximum efficiency). Use it for large open-air rooms, patio/BBQ areas, deck, garage, or warehouse. This weather-resistant evaporative air cooler is made to stand up to outdoor conditions. Honeywell evaporative coolers do not require power hungry components like compressors. The CO610PM consumes only 220 watts of power. This low power consumption translates into significant savings on energy bills. Features honeycomb cooling media on 3 sides for optimum cooling performance. Its powerful motor and wide fan blades help to deliver strong airflow with an air throw up to 36 feet. A continuous water supply connection, 14-gallon water tank, and built-in overflow protection system allow longer periods of operation, making it suitable for more demanding applications. For those living in more humid climates, consider portable air conditioning units or window air conditioners for indoor use.

I couldn't have a air condition but the back room was hot so this is perfect. The water storage is enough only uses 1/2 the tank for the night. Love it!!!! So glad I bought this. It keeps the room cool as actual air conditioning and its portable can roll it anywhere.
We live in the desert where the summertime temps frequently average 100 degrees and above. We have central air however my oldest daughter's bedroom (approximately 200 sq ft) is directly over our garage which makes her room a constant hot box even when the AC is running; literally unlivable. Even at night the summer heat makes this bedroom nearly unsleepable. I searched and searched, watched video after video, read all kinds of reviews looking for a cooling unit that would fix the situation without costing and arm and a leg. Seriously, this Honeyell evaporative cooler has been OUTSTANDING! I love that you can have it on "Fan" mode or "Cool" mode. Right out of the box it worked great and there was No odor as the manual mentioned for first time use. No leaking problems at all. You do have to refill the water tank if you run it on the cooling mode for more that about 8 hours, but it's a portable unit and that is to be expected. Yes, the best cooling is felt if you are positioned in the path of the fan/cooler, nevertheless, for a 200 sq ft sweat box, this 300 sq ft Honeywell unit pretty much cools the whole room very well. I have to say that since I am new to evaporating coolers, I was a bit skeptical about having to "open" a window to allow for proper ventilation and avoid creating a humid environment. I was concerned that I would just be letting in a bunch of heat and defeating the whole purpose. Not so, it works like a charm. Go figure, science works! Like the title says, this unit has been an absolute Life Saver for my daughter. Funny side note, even our dogs like to sleep in her room now because of how cool the room is at night.
I like the unit. I owned one previously, so knew I liked them. The last one lasted over 4 years until the controller stopped working, and it wouldnt turn on. The new one did not minclude the carbon filter, so I salvaged the old one to use.
When my A/C and Evaporative cooler went out...I was stymied on how to cool my home! My son-in-law brought me an old portable A/C unit.....good for cooling 350 square feet......good for my living room and that was it! I started looking on Walmart.com and found this portable, easy to move evaporative cooler.....and ordered it.....big plus...it came a week early! I have used this unit every hour of every day since it arrived. This unit allows me and my wife to sleep at night, regardless of the temperature outside! Cools my bedroom and master bath and adjoining hallway down to 74 degrees! Wonderful buy! I can't recommend it enough! Once my A/C and evaporative cooler is fixed, I plan on using this in my guest house!
The unit is fairly large (IMHO) but has good study wheels so that it can be moved around. Which is good because we roll it into the kitchen to fill it. It holds several gallons of water. It isn't strong enough to cool the entire house, but does a terrific job cooling the bedroom. It is a bit loud at night and we can't get the sleep function to wrk. Will probably exchange because of that, hopefully it will be easy at the store.
I used this in my box van during a heat wave. It was much better than a fan, but not anything like an air conditioner. Putting ice in the reservoir is essential, so it requires a little attention. Very large for the amount of output it gives, but it made it possible for me to work in otherwise unworkable conditions.
Using it in a small room with no outside air source so hard to say if it would get really cold. Does cool down a room and ads moisture to the air directly in front of it. The air above it is still very warm but works well enough for me despite not using as directed. Haven't used it with ice yet. I would recommend it. Very good fan action.
It doesn't actually cool the whole room, you have to be right in front of it to feel the cool air. Plus the air only blows out cool right when you put the ice in it. After the ice melts it's pretty much the same if you just have it on fan mode. It's also a lot bigger than I thought it would be and uses 6 gallons of water.
Works well for the hot Tx heat. Used this under my covered patio. I did need to add ice to the water and the top compartment to keep the blown air cool enough. Another star would have been given to this product if the front air delivery section was bigger and not just at the top. Returned this for the step up model with a large circle air vent at the front.
The concept was great, but the performance was minimal. The water in the cooler heats up to room temperature very quickly, so you are basically blowing warm air through warm water. I live in Austin so I thought the humidity would be low enough here for this thing to work. All it did was make the room that much more humid. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone in TX (maybe it would work in NM or AZ).
