Mimic the comfort of a cool lake breeze in your home with the slim Honeywell 588 CFM indoor evaporative air cooler. Built to cool large spaces up to 487 square feet, this unit is ideal for living rooms, common areas, garage or semi-outdoor areas such as patios or open-sided tents (covered by a roof or canopy). A versatile performer, this swamp cooler is equipped with a large water tank and continuous water supply option for longer, more demanding applications. The tower design with oscillating louvers allows for the airflow to be distributed evenly, while the slim design makes it convenient to fit comfortably into compact spaces. An evaporative air cooler offers an energy efficient cooling option when the air is hot with low humidity, such as desert areas like the southwestern United States (recommended humidity level is 60% or less for maximum efficiency). For those living in more humid climates, consider portable air conditioning units or window air conditioners.

I got it because of the height and shape and it looks as good as it does in the images. It looks great in my living room and blows out cool air in the right places.
First time trying out an Evaporative air cooling unit and am in LOVE with it! It's much cooler than a typical floor fan and almost feels like air conditioning is coming out of the vents! I know it's not the same technology but the cold air is just magical! This product also looks great in our living room and moves on wheels so I push it to the kitchen when I'm cooking up a storm in my ooorly ventilated kitchen! Recommended if you don't have air conditioning and not getting any results from your floor fan!
My evaporative cooler stopped working. It was 116' here in AZ. I was desperate! I couldn't and can't afford an Electrician so I looked up evaporative portable coolers on line and came upon this one. Bought the Honeywell tower portable evaporative cooler with fan on my Walmart credit card. Only cools one room at a time but it is worth it. Saved my life! Thank you Honeywell! G. B.
This clever tower design for a typical swamp cooler is such a great idea because the air flowing out is raised so you feel cool on your body where you need it most. You can tell this is a Honeywell because it's very well made and we expect it to last many years. It's worked wonders this summer until it gets humid then we just switch on the air conditioning. When it's dry the cool air is very refreshing and we feel good that we aren't running a huge electricity bill.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm impressed with this cooler. It looks great in my living room and the air coming out is strong but comfortable.
I liked the concept, and I even knick-named him R2D2! He's "cute" enough--got the large one so maybe handsome is a better word-- but unfortunately, he can only cool things down to tolerable..mostly. We had a string of 95 days and my house only got down to 85-ish. And it will only cool a small area. So my 14 x 20-ish livingroom is somewhat comfortable with the air movement, but the back rooms don't get anything. I only put it on the lowest setting because otherwise it is too loud and goes through the water too fast. One does have the option to hook it up to the hose, but I can't see snaking a hose through the window somehow and hooking/unhooking it as needed. So..if I had it to do over, I'd get a portable non-evaporative cooler which was my original plan. Just thought with my dry eye problem and to keep the electric bills down this would be a good option. Not so much..Hope I survive July and August!
I used to be a big fan of Honeywell products. This purchase has changed that opinion. The unit started to leak in the middle of the night while I was sleeping after using it only twice. I contacted Honeywell customer service and it took them 2 months to answer my email. I responded with the information they asked for and haven't heard back from them since, even though I have followed up several times. Of course this took so long I can no longer return it to Walmart. I would not recommend this product, it ruined my hardwood floor as well as the ceiling downstairs below where the unit was placed. Their customer service is a joke!
I've owned this unit for 2 months and the pump no longer works, even with a full tank turning the pump on results in the low water-level beep that turns it off immediately. Not that it really matters much, since running it with the pump didn't make it much cooler anyway.
i purchased 3 of these.. the first one was working so wonderfully that i decided I needed another. so I went back to lowes and bought another. once set up it made a horrible noise like a fish tank filter without water running through. tried priming the pump and got no change. returned it and briugh it home seemed to work just fine! was super happy then 2 months later the my daughter said her fan was blowing hot air [1st] we tried cleaning it and just couldn't get it to blow cold; but was still a good fan. so switch mom took fan and left good one in her room. winter comes. cooler part not needed. summer comes... her coolers blowing hot 2 weeks later my fan starts squealing.. $800 down the drain. my lil honeywell that sits on the floor from 4 summers back... still blows and the cooler works... but its a 2g system.... $125 well spent...
Horrible. Repeatedly leaks. We live in a two story house and were using it on the top story. Repeatedly leaked and flooded the bottom story. Now have water damage to bottom story. We cleaned the filter which was not dirty it had only been used a couple of weeks. It's a piece of trash that will cost us even more money.
