The thermistar was installed in our house when we bought it. After living in it for a year I finally took the time to figure out how to hook it up to our wifi. It is so handy to be able to control and monitor the thermistat remotely. I love it.
Easy to program and control remotely. I enjoy the reliability of Honeywell thermostats.
Great way to control your home from anywhere. Coming home from a long vacation, you can put the temperature where you want it so you can come home and relax.
Works good for us. Only issue is that auto feature will not work on our heat pump system. Must manually switch from heat to cool but can be done from the app with no problem.
The thermostat is not new. I am the new owner of the home, and was unable to connect it to WiFi. Your representative was very patient and capable, and helped me. The thermostat works fine.
The thermostat looks good and works well if you don't want to be able to control the temperature swing or cycle rate. I consider this a serious flaw. I cannot fathom why a top quality manufacturer like Honeywell would not permit the users access to this adjustment. It would cost next to nothing to implement. In case anyone is not familiar with the temperature swing option, it is the ability to control how much the indoor temp is allowed to vary from the set point before the heat (or AC) turns on. With the Honeywell it is fixed internally at 1 degree and cannot be adjusted. This causes my air conditioner to vary at least 1 degree and sometimes as much as 2 degrees between on/off cycles. The result is that since installing the Honeywell I notice my house is less comfortable and seems more humid at times. My previous thermostat (Lux) the AC was more consistently comfortable all day. I will have to stick to Lux products since they do allow for this important feature. Too bad, the Honeywell seems to be a great product otherwise.
There should be better integration with Alexa, considering you support Amazon Key. I was expecting to be able to ask Alexa what the status of the garage and/or to even shut the garage
Thermostat went off line after about 2 weeks and changed the schedule to cool to 50 degrees at night. Would not reconnect to the WiFi. Had to go back to manually changing the temp at night/morning.
I did not buy this product new. The house I bought had one. 4 days after I reprogrammed the thermostat, it stopped working. Unfortunately, this was the coldest night of the year. At least I was able to use it as a smart device for a few days before it failed.
With this product the app is not showing me the automation section which allows you to set up geofencing. It alerts me that I've crossed the boundary and don't have set back settings in place but lacks the section to do so.
