Very easy to hook up and install. Seems 100% reliable , have yet to see it go into alarm mode - been dry and above freezing. I use IFTTT to augment the notifications.
I arrived home from vacation to 10 gallons of water in my basement - condensate pump had quit. Purchased and installed in 5 minutes, app installed and alarms set up in another 5 minutes. Droplet of water on the rope, instant notification. Perfect!
After a popular brand failed when needed, I was reluctant to try this brand because of price. However, I liked the concept of the entire rope cable being sensitive to moisture, so I tried it. Time will tell when I need it to work.
The machine went offline twice. Somehow it remedied itself after I checked with my Internet provider the first time. Then it went offline again on January 15 and is still offline tonight January 18. I am gone for four months so I am not at home.
It works well, however, I would prefer that it monitor in actual time rather than only transmitting a few times/day. Too much can go wrong in between and I haven't been able to test its ability to send me an text or email.
The unit looses connection to the internet occasionally, no consistent pattern. Reconnects on its own almost every time, rarely has needed reset. Since it only reports 3x/ day, I donât know how long it is really off line.
After a/c guy placed it in attic... I found I could I have purchased it myself for 1/3 the cost. Wished I had gotten the alarm one instead. It woke me up 3 nights in a row saying the temperature was high. We turn off unit at night.
I would have given a higher score but.. I ordered 3 devices. Two are definitely a 5?star rating. One device however drops in and out with an alarming frequent - like 2to 3 times a month. Definitely an aggravating situation & not battery related.
The product is in my attic to monitor the drip pan to prevent leaks. The unit went offline 1 day after it was installed. I haven't had a chance to go up into the attic to fix it.
It works. Sometimes. It goes offline for no reason. I constantly have to reset it. Not reliable and therefore it cannot be depended upon to alert me as it is supposed to do.
