I always wanted something to clean my ceramic tiles. With four dogs going in and out all day I was looking for something different but found this one brought it home and I couldn't be happier it is easy to use and works very well my floors have never been cleaner!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this product on 11/3/2020. Since day one it has not released enough water. This problem became progressively worse over time. Today it would not release any water. I took the machine apart to do a root cause analysis (I'm a product design engineer). I determined that the water release trigger on the handle does not open the water release valve enough to let the water through the valve. The trigger only opens the plunger in the water release valve about 1/8". It needs to open about 3/8" to let the water run freely. There is no adjustment for the this, therefore the machine cannot be fixed. I had to throw it out.
Shocked how dirty the extracted water was. What an amazing little machine!! I had been cleaning my ceramic tile floors with Swiffer bi-weekly.

My wife has hip dysplasia so she can't keep up with cleaning and our entire apartment has these horrible, cheap, fake wooden floors that get sticky dirty if you look at them wrong. We bought a steam mop, the pad would gunk up and just spread the dirt around. Regular mops got dirty and wouldn't get clean again. Scrubbing by hand got exhausting too quickly. My wife and I had been going back and forth on buying this machine, looking at everything else on the market. We both wish we would have purchased this when we moved in, not a year later. I can get the floors SPOTLESS in one weekend now or clean up the kids bad messes without taking up a ton of time. We've always purchased Hoover and this just further reinforces those choices!
We have dogs and cats, mix of ages and hair lengths and of course love all the crazy little critters. A couple years ago our senior dog had several accidents on the carpet and we used the fancy B word cleaner that we purchased for about 4x the price of this one. It seemed to work on the worst of the soil but never pulled up the WET when trying to dry the carpet after cleaning. The result was a stain that reappeared on the wet spot and a foul smell that we just couldn't get rid of no matter what we tried. Frustrated and many sinus problems later we decided to try this Hoover compact cleaner. We've only had it a week but it's removed the old stains and smells. Before getting carried away, I did 3 spots that were really bad and they have not returned...with the old cleaner the spots kept coming up through the carpet again and again. After using the Hoover, smell is still as fresh as when I cleaned it a few days ago. To get it really clean, I will need to take my time and clean the carpet in the whole room not just my little test spots. I wasn't really sure it was going to work as well as it did. I did try the sample carpet shampoo from Hoover and another brand I had. They both removed the same amount of stains and dirt but I did like the scent that the Hoover one left.
I've tried other machines this one hands down works the best! If something is sticky you might have to go over it a few times but it comes up! I have 2 short hair dogs and it got all the hair up! Love love love it! My only recommendation would be beef up the brushes. Looked to see if I could buy some but only see the ones it comes with. Other than that its awesome!
This is a pathetic piece of machinery. Electric toothbrushes have more power than the brushes on this thing. It leaves a muddy dirt trail and the water dispenser quit working after 3 uses. Save yourself the money and buy a hand scrub brush and a pan of water,
I love these Hoover Hard floor Cleaners as they are the only hard floor cleaner that releases the clean water with it's cleaner solution, scrubs the floor, sucks the dirty used water/ solution, and you can actually see the dirty water/solution that it picks up so you know it's effective. I keep 2 on hand at all times and ensure I get an extended warranty as they have a life span as of late of only a few months at most before they will malfunction and youl'll need to invoke the warranty and go through the hassle of shipping it back. In fact this one I purchased malfunction right out the box as it doesn't dispel the clean water/ solution mix. I do have my back up but if this is going to be the quality of the product going forward it will be a darn shame. I'm hoping it was a fluck but now I have to go the the trouble to return via UPS and wait for it's replacement. Uggh
I have only used my Hoover Powerdash maybe 5 times max. Today when I attempted to use it, no fluid would dispense. The holes in the clear rectangular plastic piece are not clogged. I was hoping to get more than 4-5 times use with the cost of this unit.
