I've been using the Hormel Pepperoni, hand sliced on my pizza for over 15 years and I have not found another pepperoni that cooks as well. If you want pepperoni the curls up and gets crisp without burning - this is it. I find the stick pepperoni is better than the Hormel pre-sliced - just cooks better.
It was just as fresh as I remember. The perfect addition to pasta salad.
Hormel pepperoni is the absolute best pepperoni ever made. Period! I've been eating it since I was a small child and my 100% Italian grandma would feed us kids bowls of it. She always had many sticks of this pepperoni!
The casing that is on pepperoni comes of very easy which people are complaining about. Also never had a different taste in any sticks I ever had bought. Guess you have some picky people complaining about nothing.pepperoni
Hormel was substituted for what I normally. The one I got must have been around a while. The skin was hard so we peeled it off. The pepperoni had very little taste. Won't buy this again.
The 20 oz. stick is a hit or miss on flavor. If you buy 2 sticks of two different dates you will find out there is a big flavor swing. Some sticks are great and others taste terrible to the point you don't dare to use it. Very little to no pepperoni flavor or any heat. Its like someone forgot to add the spices to the batch. Never the less, Hormel has a serious quality control problem with this product!
Packaging was clearly sliced in the opening of the box.
We've never bought this huge stick before. This 20 oz version has a non-edible plastic casing on the pepperoni stick. The casing can't be chewed through with teeth!! My wife made a pasta salad and took the pepperoni out of the package, sliced pieces of pepperoni off the stick and then quartered each slice before mixing in to the salad. Salad was ruined for everyone. If Hormel puts a plastic casing on it, they should add extra plastic to the end to make it obvious it needs to be peeled back. I won't buy this size again!
