This printer has been a speedy workhorse. The duplexing unit really saves on paper and has worked very well. The print quality rivals a laser printer and the ink is very bold and clear - colors vibrant and ink cartridges last a long time. The double paper trays that hold up to a ream are a real bonus in the inkjet printer world. The only negative I have had is having it feed paper crooked at times. Nor did I have any luck printing a straight 4x6 photo - they always came out crooked - so I purchased an HP 3210 for all my picture printing needs. But the OfficeJet Pro is a fantastic production printer if you want a fast, reliable text and graphic printer.
Printing is easy professional quality, multi uses,great pictures, and extremely fast! I have recommended this printer to my family, friends, school district, and businesses. The ink cartridges last a long time. HP has a program that lets you know when you need to order more ink...saves time and peace of mind- priceless I give my k550 5 stars plus, plus A fantastic value!
This printer is awesome! I bought it because I was printing a lot of material for school. The double sided and the multiple page printing features are excellent. It saves me time, energy, and money. I also use it as a network printer for my wireless laptop and home PC. And since starting a home business, the printer still holds its own allowing me flexibility and speed so that I can do more. I highly recommend it, especially if you already have a multiple purpose device for scanning, copying, etc. I call it my workhorse.
This is a pretty great printer. Individual ink cartridges works out well, especially when printing quite a few brochures, pamphlets, etc. Plus the cartridges are good sized so you don't have to change often. 2 paper trays enables me to have regular paper in one and envelopes in the other. This is great; now I don't have to put in one at a time. Highly recommend this printer for personal or small business.
PRINTER WORKED EXCELLENT EXCEPT WHEN PRINTING THE SECOND SIDE FROM A PAPER TRAY. THEN IT WOULD FEED MORE THAN ONE COPY AT A TIME SPOILING WHAT YOU DID ON THE OTHER SIDE. ALSO THIS UNIT WILL NOT DUPLEX LEGAL PAPER WHICH I USE A LOT. IT SEEMS TO PRINT A VERY GOOD QUALITY IN NORMAL FOR MOST USES AND ALSO PRINTS QUITE A FEW COPIES PER CARTRIDGE. I PRINTED 350 TWO SIDED FLYERS AND 400 SINGLE SIDED FLYERS AND ONLY USED ABOUT HALF OF THE INK IN A LARGE SET OF CARTRIDGES. THE SPEED IS UNBELIEVABLE IN THE NORMAL MODE. ON THE 2 SIDED FLYER IT ONLY TOOK ABOUT 13 SECONDS TO PRINT EACH SIDE WHICH IS WAY FASTER THAN MY OLD COLOR PRINTER. THIS SAVED ME A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF TIME IN PRINTING. WE ARE USING THIS PRINTER FOR A CHURCH OFFICE AND IT IS REALLY HELPING MAKE OUR CHURCH MORE COLORFUL.
I'm disappointed - this printer gets lots of paperjams when using the duplexer, and just stops printing for no reason, and is unrealiable for printing 2 sided flyers in any quan. over 20. I've spent far to much time trying to "troubleshoot" - more than it's worth. On the positive side it's very fast and is more ink efficent than other printers i've had.
This printer is quite fast, but due to the use of color ink, even on black only draft to, as one of the tech support personnel stated, make the "black more vibrant", makes it necessary to buy additional color cartridges earlier than anticipated. This is most especially true for yellow. Not only that, I could not find this stated anywhere in the documentation on the web or in the manual that came with the printer, a major oversight in my opinion and one that was verified by a support technician. Also, while the duplex unit works fine with MS software, it has trouble with Sage MAS90 in that every single page needs to be turned over to be in the proper order. Even setting the default to correct this does not help, as the normal non-duplexed print jobs then come out backward. That said, the printer does perform the rest of its functions in an efficient quality manner.
At best, this printer is average. It's slower than I thought it would be, but the REALLY frustrating thing is it won't pick up paper from the larger paper drawer. I keep getting a message saying out of paper when there is paper in there. I can use the first drawer, however, it is smaller and I do a lot of envelopes so I'd rather use that drawer for envelopes.
I am impressed with the printing speed.However I am disappointed with the software issues that this printer has given me. I have had many HP printers and this is the first that has given me any problems. If I had to purchase another machine. I would not pick this one.
The features are great. Paper jams are not uncommon, especially in the upper tray. The printer is making a strange noise when the paper is starting to feed from the upper tray. Have also had problems with the printer heads, but HP took care of that very quickly
