Good quality but sometimes gets disconnected from main PC
Purchased 7 at once for my company. The quality to value was the best I have found. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Have bought about 80 of these over the past few years from various suppliers. Only one ever arrived damaged and that was quickly replaced, hence the 79/80 post title. The 1440/2K display is a perfect resolution for a 32-inch monitor. Most have come with the cables we needed. The monitors have been great for CADD design and our marketing department likes them for photo editing as well.
I loved one extra monitor so much, I bought another. The HP Pavilion 32 QHD 32-inch Monitor is fantastic for everything from spreadsheets to gaming to enjoying a movie.
Easy to use - mulitple type outputs including DP, HDMI and USB-C
I have been using an HP 32" 4K monitor at home for Photoshop work, but needed a general monitor for work (which does not require high resolution). I am very pleased with this monitor. As it turns out, Apple computers don't always play well with 4K monitors due to resolution differences, and the Pavilion 32 QHD provides excellent resolution and the screen space for working with two documents at once. Be careful about how you connect it though, as the HDMI resolution is lower than using the Displayport. With the correct adapter, this is the perfect monitor for my MacBook Pro, and much less expensive than the 4D monitor I bought for home use. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This is the second HP Pavilion 32 QHD 32-inch monitor that I've purchased. The first was last year before the pandemic. It was a very good monitor even for casual use. Then when I needed to work from home, month after month, it helped my productivity. I had another monitor which was a 22" HD. Many times I had to resize a window when I moved it from my 32" to my 22". Finally, a year later I have purchase a second, identical monitor and the workspace I have is great! No more resizing. No more decision about which app to place where for best size utilization. As for the monitor itself, it's not fancy to look at. But the function is perfect for my needs. I like that the plugs and ports are neatly grouped on the back of the monitor. I like the thin, clean outer border so that placing monitors side by side is more seamless as windows are moved across the border. The monitor had just the ports I was looking for; DisplayPort, USB-C, and HDMI. Good solution for today and some flexibility for future connections. I also like the small footprint of the stand. I have the monitors plugged into an HP Thunderbolt dock. All of my video, audio, keyboard, and mouse are plugged into the dock. Best of all, a single USB-C plug feeds it all from the laptop to the dock. Both my work and my personal laptops have a USB-C plug. So my entire video, audio, and inputs are connected when I plug that one little USB-C into one computer or the other. Love these monitors. Love my setup. It's such a pleasure to have big, clean video spaces to work with.
The monitor seems great. Sadly my work PC seems not able to support sufficient resolution. So instead of having lots of room on the beautiful new monitor, everything is just really big.
I am overall happy with the monitor. Be aware that with some older video cards with HDMI interfaces, the maximum resolution will be 1920 x 1200. With newer cards using either DP or HDMI, the 2560 x 1440 mode is supported, but not 1920 x 1200. While the joystick controls are relatively easy to use, it is a bit awkward to have to reach around to the back of the monitor to access them. The power button is in a relatively easy to reach position on the back, once one knows where to press. Video switch is not as intuitive as I would expect. The video switch option moves to the next input, not the next active input, so I have to either select the video input twice, or select a specific option from the input menu. My biggest complaint is the stand is not height adjustable. I may have missed this in the information on the site, but I expected to be able to adjust the height. Because this is such a tall monitor relative to my older HP 24" monitor, I now have to look up to see the top of the screen more, rather than being able to lower the monitor to a more natural position. Please consider height adjustments with all 32" or larger monitors, since this seems to be a feature that is lacking on most monitors out of the box, and requires a new VESA stand to provide the capability. The image on the monitor is good, clear and sharp, although I do see some text distortion at the higher scaling levels that Windows sets by default. There are a number of advanced setting for sharpness and monitor response, which are good, but I have not been able to validate any differences in levels.
It hurts my eyes because the white at the brightest setting still has a gray tone. I have a dual monitor setup and my 5 year old hp monitor looks way better. This monitor is equal to the 32 in I replaced that was too dull.
