I am very frustrated! When I went to purchase this item it said software in the description and yet after I waited for it for several days to arrive it was nothing more than a CODE. No cd. In a smashed up box. Seriously? If I had known that was what it was going to be, I would have just instantly downloaded it and NOT almost paid shipping on it! I added another item to my order to avoid the shipping cost. I have yet to see how this will work with only a code but I am very frustrated so far!
I always purchase the CD version. It is a delusional to have a box without a CD. The only thing in the box is the activation code. You still need to download from website. If so, I would have purchased directly from HR block, which is $5 cheaper than this.
I entered all my Federal info and then downloaded the state tax software. After the download I saved my tax info and returned later to fill out the state forms only to find that all of my fed tax info was gone. I had to delete the original software and reload and once again enter all my fed info plus download state software. Not Good.
Make sure all software updates are loaded before filing. An update posted for my software after filing / cost me $55 on my refund. Would have to refile by mail to fix and get the money / not worth the effort. My fault but the software let me do it !
I purchased the deluxe edition, what a joke. After completing my return, your program wouldn't let me file because my software needed to be updated, but that update wasn't available for 7 days. This delay in filling caused me to not getting my return filed before the Government shut down.
This software is all I have used for 10 years its great. The 1 star is because I wanted the disc not a digital download. I picked this one because I was certain it was the disc version. With the digital download its only available to re-download for a year if you pay an extra fee they extend the download. The reason this is important is because you may need to look at your taxes down the road a few years and you will have to re download it. But if you have the disc u can put that in and look at it anytime.
Last years program had a disk, this years none. Last year my computer with Windows 7 allowed me to run the program . This year Windows 8.1/10 is required to run this program. I found this out by searching the Internet for the reason the program did not upload to my compuer. Ther seems to be a lot of people with the same situation. Now I have program that I can't use and a loss of money that I paid for the program. I don't plan on buying a new computer to use H
Product arrived and I populated all values that applied. I went back 4 times to recheck my input data. The program works in a question/answer format so you do not see final forms e.g. 1040 or Schedule E. I then submitted - to the IRS and final. That is when the program finally spits out a printable PDF file that is essentially all of the forms filled out. That is when I realized numerous Schedule E items that I had given values for were Zeroed out on the form. TOO LATE Then the nightmare of trying to get custom service began.. Essentially there is NONE Nothing online for support once you register and I waited on the phone for 2 -1/2 hours and was transferred 3 times before I was hung up on. I was cut out of over $400 in the return and have no recourse... DON'T BOTHER
I ordered the download version. After entering the code and supporting information, I pressed continue. A bar appeared stating processing, but nothing happened on my Windows desktop computer and the processing bar continued moving across the screen so, now Im stuck with a program for which I have paid but cannot return for refund. Ive used HRBlock tax software for years. Im very disappointed that I cant even talk to a live person when I call for help.
Why did you decide to create an import for 2016 that not only include personal information but prevented me from e-mailing the completed product by preventing me the entry for AGI because the 2016 had it zeroed out and i could not change it. you also do allow for two home mortgages on the same house in one year. one mortgage was sold to the other. I have not been aware tha through all your surveys I have answered that you have changed anything. so I wiil change tttttto another program next year after using hr block for the past 10 or more years.
