I've used this tax program for over 8 years and each year very happy with the ease. I stopped using T.t. because they made an error in their update and NO ONE in customer service would admit their error. I think everyone will find the ease of doing and submitting their taxes. I will NEVER use the "free" government program as they have been hacked in the past.
I have used H&R Block software for over 15 years now. This year I downloaded the software and worked through my taxes in a short period of time. I did enter something incorrectly and used their phone support to make the corrections. It was my fault for the incorrect entry and not the fault of the software but having phone support available was very helpful. It wasn't very hard to reach a real person to help me either. Entering my data was easy and straight forward as was filing my tax returns. I will use H&R Block software again next year.
Mostly great and easy to use. There was one issue that had to be fixed before I could file. The information on what or why was rather cryptic, and I had to search for what was needed. I was able to find what was needed, but I would have thought there would be a better explanation of what was required. Other than that I've been using the software for years with very few problems.
This came as a download/prepaid, Surprise! I went ahead and let the purchase happen. I was going to need the software anyway. I had problems this year with the software and my health insurance. It was rejecting my return telling me I needed the form which was in the information. So upset this year I just printed everything and mailed it.
Overall, very good tax software; have used TurboTax for years and this was just as good and less expensive. Could have a little more user-friendly screen presentations, but once I got use to it was good. Loved how it could accurately import last year's return via PDF.
We always download the H&R Block Premium software for our taxes. This was the first year I had Required Minimum Distributions and was certain that I had withdrawn the correct amount from my IRA. But the H&R software recommended that I re-check to make sure I had met the minimum distribution requirement. The recommendation caused quite a bit of worry and uncertainty. I finally decided to ignore the recommendation. This was also the first year we decided to e-File. After checking and re-checking our return we were ready to e-File on April 14. Our first attempt at e-Filing was rejected after a long period of waiting for some kind of response. We received an "Unable to Connect" error message even though the program had just reported that it had successfully tested our internet connection. The error message suggested that I check the internet connection on my end, which had just been verified by the software. The program suggested disabling my anti-virus and firewalls, which I did. It made no difference. Subsequent and numerous attempts to e-File were still rejected. After nearly an hour of continuous attempts to e-File our return, our return was finally accepted by H&R Block, much to our relief. Tax time is stressful enough without problems e-Filing our tax return. Especially after we learned that the problem was not on our end of the connection after all. Next year we may go back to printing our return and mailing it to the IRS. We have become very familiar with the H&R Block tax software interface and plan on continuing to use it, but at this time we do not have a lot of confidence in the e-Filing function.
H&R Block tax software is good. I have used it exclusively for many years. I like the software and ease of use. I was very happy, until all of the recent media reports of H&R Block sharing personal information with others. Now I'm not sure what to think…
Since your system went down on the last day I was not able to send electronicly. This meant I had to get together and print all forms and mail my forms in. My bad for waiting to the last day but your bad for having a clich the last day. Will use next year. Maybe but will not wait till last day
Your "North Carolina"-specific application had bothered to check to see if we owed any money to any state agency. As it happened, we owed UNC Healthcare $1,899.68 Wel done!! I thus have a caveat to add to my "Yes" response (you did not allow a "Maybe") - I would recommend it but I would tell my friend that it will NOT check on other debts owed....
Fed efiles fine, Wi stat fails while trying to confirm payment method. Tried many Credit and debit cards. My guess is they never ask for the CID of the card. This has failed for several years now. not sure why I am paying for a product that does not work and now I have to use a different companys product to complete my taxes. Done with H&R Block.
