I was sad that I had to replace my LG Transpyre prepaid phone with Verizon. I dropped that phone so many times and it never did damage until the very last time over a year later. However, switching to the HTC Desire 526 prepaid phone with Verizon has gone above and beyond exceeding my expectations. The battery on this phone lasts a lot longer than the Transpyre. I no longer have to charge my phone every night and I use it often. Navigating through the phone is simple and as the screen transitions to the next screen it does so smoothly. Everyone can hear me clearly and I can also hear them better than I could on the Transpyre. I was scared because of the ratings of the next model up from the HTC Desire were poor but this is one of the best judgment calls I have had in the working technology department. In my opinion, this phone is worth more than the $69's consumers have to pay for purchase. I had some concerns about what would happen and how I could change the phones on my prepaid account at Verizon but it was a pretty simple process.
Camera works well. You can't beat the price for a smart phone. Has a nice size screen and does everything I need it to do. I will never go back to a contract plan with crazy priced phones.
First off, anyone looking for a great android based phone for under $100 needs to seriously consider this phone. I did extensive research on the Verizon based phones typically available in store and this one was the best, by far. The three top contenders in the under $100 class were the Moto E, LG Transpyre, and the HTC Desire. The desire beat out the other phones easily. -Better front selfie Camera (2.0 mp) -Better back camera (8mp) -Better Ram ( 1500mb) -Better UI (HTC Sense-Highly customizable android based interface) -Better Screen Display size (4.7 in) Its huge! -HTC Quality Build -Fast and Snappy with apps (Facebook/Snapchat/web Surfing) -GSM based(uses SIM card to easily swap to new carriers) -Gaming (Plays Hearthstone with minor stutter) -Android OS Lollipop (Best you can get since Marshmallow is only in 3% of new phones) -CHEAP (well under $100, cant say price but next best phone spec wise was OVER $100) Tired of apple? Tired of contracts? Tired of spending money? Buy this phone and don't look back.
My son has been using this phone since Christmas. I have to say he is very happy with it. Calls are clear, screen is extremely responsive and sound is good. He plays games and texts primarily. For a phone under $80, this thing is really amazing. I have been an iPhone owner for the last 5 years, currently an iPhone 6 user, and I have to say that other than the camera being a little lower resolution, it basically does what the iPhone is capable of doing. Plus, at this price, I don't have to worry so much about my son breaking it or losing it as it will not break the bank to replace it. Nice phone with nice features.
Best verizon per-paid phone by far.
I really like this phone, easy to use and the ability to customize the screen with apps best suited for "Home" "Work" and "Out" applications is great. No problem turning on the Hotspot feature (when connecting my tablet) or the phone's ability to auto switch from 4G to WiFi when WiFi is available. Very simply to transfer data and apps from my old phone to this phone. My only issue is after updating of pre-installed HTC apps, you lose a lot of the 8G of storage on the phone. I get good reception and speed is impressive. Did my change over with Verizon from my old phone to this one online with no problem and as ready to go right away. Sound is OK, battery life is decent, display is bright and clear. Can't beat it for the price and I would recommend to a friend.
I would recommend this phone to anyone who is looking for a decent smartphone without the expensive price tag. It is very easy to use and has no connection issues so far. The only thing is that I don't like is thatit doesn't have a notification light for missed calls or messages and the front facing camera could have been put in a better position. But overall for the price it does what you need it to do.
This phone is great right out of the box. However, after about 2 months of use, the power button stopped responding without several attempts. The phone freezes up while texting and switching applications. It frequently does not ring with incoming calls, drops calls, does not receive texts, and restarts itself. I have found through hunting online that these problems are the result of the operating system being too large for the amount of internal memory this phone has. A micro SD will not fix this problem. The phone displays a message on my that reads "internal storage full" there are no apps or pictures saved on the phone. Very disappointed.
The SD card is useless on this phone. I have a 64 GB card that is sitting with 62 GB free while my 8 GB internal memory is full because the phone does not allow apps to be transferred to SD card. Sure it says that it allows it, but for example, if you have a 100 MB app on internal memory and try to transfer it to SD card, it might transfer 50 MB to the SD card, then keep 80 MB on the internal. Useless. Then the apps won't store data (i.e., videos, maps, etc.) on the SD card. So the SD card is pretty much only good for your pictures and your music (but not Amazon Prime music either). So, considering Android takes up over 5 GB of internal space, you are left with less than 3 GB for everything else.
I have had the phone for a few days now and have found many flaws, that prevent the phone from doing what I need. I hope that I am able to return it for a full refund. 1. Drops wifi regularly 2. Yik Yak barely loads, and rarely works. 3. Snapchat can't connect to server. 4. Facebook and Instagram are slow, and will not load every picture. 5. The phone easily comes out of lock.
