[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have always had a hard time getting chainsaws started. I'm a woman that doesn't have a lot of arm strength. One of the reasons that I went with the 455 Rancher is that is has a decompression button. All you have to do is push that button before pulling the rope, and it is soooooo much easier to pull and get it started. I couldn't believe it! Why don't all chainsaws have that? I would have bought this chainsaw a long time ago if I had known about this. With the 20" bar and full of gas and chain oil, it weighed a little over 16 pounds. I can handle that. It certainly has enough power for me as well. It cut through 20" pine logs like butter. One other thing that I noticed right off the bat with this Husky 455, is that the weight is distributed on the handle a lot better than my old saw, which was the same CC, bar size, and weight. It just feels easier to carry and use. More balanced. I'm really pleased with this saw.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my 455 Rancher in 2017. Most dependable saw I've had. I have a small tree service and this is my go to saw when felling trees, bucking logs, or cutting firewood. Very reliable and affordable.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great chainsaw!!! I have owned my other 455 for 22 years, still use it and it runs great but I need another to leave my other at cabin in Northern Michigan.... so I bought the same model. Wouldnt buy any other!
Have been running this saw for over 15 years. Great for tree maintenance and brush clearing. Have also used it several times for Hurricane and tornado clean up. Have an Echo 440CS and this saw is hands down my favorite. Rugged and reliable, it starts right up even after storing for months.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought it to replace my old big slow chainsaw, very happy with my rancher small but packs a punch and fast...!!!
I use mine for cutting blown down trees in the forest while camping. It's easy to start and use - if you read and follow the instructions - and chews through wood like butter. Paired with the S2800 splitting axe, campfires got a lot easier. The saw does drop chain oil, and my big foot doesn't fit the saw handle opening for pull starting, but I love this saw. Great product!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first "real" saw. I needed something big enough to harvest firewood and clear some small trees. I started asking around about mid-sized (55cc-59cc) saws. My friends and co-workers, farmers and professionals alike all agree that the 455 is a "great little saw" . No one has anything bad to say about it. Even the staunch S-saw fanboys like the Husqvarna 455. While out on a firewood-getting expedition with friends, my 455 rancher was the go-to saw while re-fueling, or touching up chains, heck even just needing a one-pull start, small saw to quickly limb or buck something. My only complaint isn't really a complaint at all. I really appreciate a full-wrap handle for cutting from the "right side" of the saw either left-handed or for falling trees. That's it.

This saw is a beast. It makes easy work of any job. Although it is a little heavy for this weekend warrior. My only real gripe is the leaking bar chain oil, I'm not talking a little, I'm talking the whole well will be puddled on the floor. It leaks from the seal point on the back of the bar. That being said I still love this saw, it hasn't failed me, it started every time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought my first 455 rancher and it was excellent. I purchased it with a 24 bar and cut many cords of wood. I never any issues with it. Unfortunately I had not secured it very good on the way back and it hit the road and it met its demise. I loved it so I bought a another 455 rancher with a 24 inch bar again. This one was not even close to the quality of the older one. I filled it up and started cutting. I ran it out of fuel and filled it back up but no oil was used. I took it back to the dealer and they checked it out. After a few days I got it back. Still no oiler. I've had it back to the dealer at least half a dozen times and it never worked. I finally gave up and got a bucket of used oil and just dipped the bar in that before every cut. I didn't care any more. It burns up chains and the bar has plenty of heat damage but whatever. It's a good saw with plenty of power but the oiler is just weak. No other complaints.
