Thrifty shoe salesman Bernie Fishiness (Jason Alexander) shouldn't have a problem finding a girlfriend. He's sweet, considerate and romantic. Unfortunately, Bernie also a little overweight. One night, Bernie meets Tress Garbled (Nia Peeples), a beautiful Italian-American psychology student. Bernie is captivated by her; Tress only sees him as the perfect subject for her thesis on overeating. Mistaking Tress' interest as romantic, Bernie begins an all-out weight-loss program, gaining confidence as he loses weight. Meanwhile Tress finds herself spending more and more time with her subject. But Tress could never be interested in someone like Bernie. Or could she...?.
