My mother gifted my young daughter with the 1955 typewriter her father bought for her in high school. My daughter had been intrigued with the "ancient technology." To my sheer amazement, I found the Kores ribbon advertised as a new item. I ordered it online & picked it up at my neighborhood Walmart the following week. It took less than 1 minute to replace and fits like a glove! My daughter is now creating new and novel stories the old fashioned way and adding her own unique illustrations. While the ribbon is not as long as they made them in the previous mid-century, the fact that it was available, a bargain price, slid right in as a replacement was a joy - and made for one nostalgic and happy grandma.
Fit my 1927 Corona Four just perfect ... looks GOOD and FEEDS good and PRINTS BLACK on paper ... what more could you ask for. I'm grateful to this company for making these 'vintage' typewriter spools with new ribbons.
The ribbon fit the Smith Corona Silent Super typewriter but was nearly dried out. I had to advance the ribbon to the middle to get a half way good type image and even then I had to use more pressure on the keys than should have been necessary.
