I did so much research on baby monitors, it took weeks to make a decision. I wanted one that was a closed circuit, not wifi, had good night vision, and you could tilt/move the camera from the parent unit remotely. This does it all! And it does it well. Set up is easy, the camera is already paired to the monitor. Picture quality is great, battery life is normal. I wish it did come with two cameras but another camera is $90 on Amazon.. not too bad. Some of the other brands I couldn't even find a second camera anywhere online even though they said they support multiple cameras. It's pricey but it's been great so far!
Purchased this for my son and daughter--in-law for their first baby. He is in the Air Force and stationed in England! They love it and are thrilled with all the bells and whistles it has. Only thing I would suggest is that there was a way to send it to an APO for someone who is in the military ... had to have it sent to me then send it to them. Other than that - it is great!
We had one of these units already so this is our second. I bought this because you can pair more than one camera with the parent unit The only issue I have is that you can't link the camera to 2 Parent units(screens). I thought I could connect both cameras to 2 parent units but you can only connect the cameras to ONE unit. So one unit will be useless OR we don't use the pairing function and use one unit for one camera and the other unit for the other camera. Either way I'm glad I got another one and it's not Wi-Fi so that makes me feel slot better.
This video baby monitor was almost $50 less expensive than at any other on-line source. It arrived within two days of ordering! If I could give six stars, I would. Totally satisfied!
This monitor is simple & straightforward. It provides high quality video and sound for monitoring a baby, and provides quality video even in the dark. The ability to move the camera remotely works well, and makes it easy to not have to check up on the camera once it's running. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is that it lacks more modern features, such as integration with mobile devices.
Picture quality isn't quite what was advertised, it's a little fuzzy but it still works well. I got the wide angle lens to watch an active toddler, the lens covers most of the room, with the movement capabilities covering the rest. It doesn't quite pick up on the light in the room unless its pointed directly at it, so for some of the room it reads in the black and white night vision even during the day. This isn't a problem for me, I can still see the kiddo. The range for the portable monitor covers the whole house (house isn't huge), though I leave it plugged in at night so it lasts the whole night. The peace of mind given was worth the money.
This product has a fairly good picture quality but the range is terrible. Like new moms don't have enough lost sleep we DEFINITELY don't need to lose more from a constant beeping in the middle of the night from the baby monitor being "out of range". We have a very moderate sized home and our bedroom is across the house from our baby (35ft apart). I would not recommend unit unless you don't mind the beeping waking you up 25 times!
Awful customer service. This was purchased as a baby shower gift. Unfortunately, the gift recipient opened the package 10 days after the 90 day return police was up. The item in the box was a used, returned and BROKEN monitor. There was obvious use of the monitor. I asked for the item to be exchanged, provided pictures, explaining it was a gift, etc., and they would not budge or offer any sort of exchange or money back. AGAIN - I ordered a NEW baby monitor, not a used one.
This must have come from an outside seller. I was given 2 separate tracking codes from FedEx for it and it arrived not in Walmart packaging. Everything was in working order but the screen protector plastic was literal tape instead of a plastic cling. It left residue that would not even come off with goo-gone. I contacted the manufacturer and they were going to replace the monitor but wanted me to pay shipping to send the old one back. I decided to just return to Walmart. Do not purchase! It was a very sketchy process and I will just spend the extra $30 to purchase from Target or Amazon instead.
I know it has thousands of great reviews and is consitently ranked the best baby monitor, but dont be fooled! The company used to offer a free add-on camera to anyone who wrote a review. And the websites that are giving it high marks arenât using it over an extended period of time. This baby monitor is great ... for the first month or so. At that point youâll start noticing that the image quality in night mode isnât as sharp as it used to be. Youâll convince yourself that itâs nothing ... and then slowly over time the image quality will degrade to the point that the system is practically unusable (can you see the stuffed animal in the crib in the attached picture? No? Imagine that was your baby). When I reached that point, I contacted customer service and they sent me a new camera (I had to pay for shipping to return the old one). Everything was great for a month, and then the exact same thing started to happen. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Do NOT spend the small fortune is costs to buy this monitor. When it works well, it may be one of the best monitors on the market, but that will only be true for a couple of months. Go with something thatâs cheaper, even if the image quality isnât as great. Trust me, it will work better in the long run.
