This clock is very retro! Good quality metal and glass - should last a long time I think. Seems to be made well and doesn't look cheap or tacky. Nice green color - kind of sage, muted mint for the outside casing and the face is a much paler green with vintage looking black numbers. Nice!
I really like this clock, the only thing I wish it had was a second. Other than that it's great! I've only had it a couple of weeks so really hard to say much else about it. It looks great in my retro kitchen tho. I took this pic. before I bought the clock, but you can see that it goes well in there.
This retro-style clock is great. I like its simplicity and the metal frame. The questionable part for me was that the face of the clock is an aged ivory tone rather than a more white color like the picture online. I decided it still could work for me anyway.
love this clock! i got one several years ago as a gift. while i was taking it down to change the time for the time change, i dropped it. it broke. i was so upset, as this clock is so cool. i went online to find another one. wasn't easy as this is not a "cookie cutter" clock. was so excited to find it at the walmart website. this clock is just like the one we had in our kitchen when i was a little boy in the 1960's. sounds corny, but this clock makes me smile/happy. if you like retro and/or remember this clock from your childhood order it now!
I saw this same clock in a specialty catalog for about $15-$20 more - EXACT clock. The frame of the clock is metal and not plastic which I really like. It was shipped and packaged extremely well. It looks like it cost at least twice what I paid (but please don't raise the price based on that comment)! The red is a true red, perhaps a bit on the cherry side - and it has a 'retro' look to it that I cannot believe I am being drawn to more and more given the fact I lived through the style the FIRST time! I have been told - I am picky - and I agree - I am. This is a great buy!
We love it! FYI -this clock has a sweep hand although it doesn't in the photo. Also the face color is not bright white, it's more of a cream color. The photo shows the clock with the white cabinet for comparison.
We put a stone back splash in our kitchen, and hung this clock over our stove. It looks great! I can see it from another room too, which I like. It's easy to read and we like the retro style.
This is an awesome sturdy clock. It is metal, not plastic. It has that authentic retro look. And it does have a second hand, unlike the photo description. It also is more green than the slightly turquoise color in the pic, and the face color is ivory. But it works for me and will be perfect in my new kitchen. It also arrived several days quicker than estimated! First time buying from Hayneedle and will definitely be a returning/repeat customer!
Pro's: easy to read, well built and way nicer than a cheap $10 or less junk import clock. con's: the face of the clock is not a bright white more of a amber/greenish color(not what i was expecting), no battery included(for such a pricy clock i would have expected a battery atleast), no second hand( not a big issue but our old clock had one and one of the first things the kids noticed.) Over all its a good looking functional clock. Walmart had the best price on this over amazon or home depot. Shipping was faster than expected thru fed-x than normal, but it is the holiday /busy season.
This clock is just what I was looking for , for our kitchen wall. The problem is the hands are also a light chrome color, so one can't see them and tell the time. The hands blend into the clock. You can only tell the time if you stand right up to it. So my husband took off the back of the clock and painted the hands black. Now it is perfect. But, not everyone will want to do this.
