I have made soup, egg bites and a chicken meal. All turned out amazing.
I have been using this model instant pot for over two years now. It was gifted to me when we had our eighth child. I never would have known what a life saver it was going to be. Breakfast quinoa, steel cut oats, rice, roast and meats, soups, potatoes, lentils and probably some things I'm not remembering! It has been a complete life save because you can toss food in and forget about it! Anyway after 2 plus years of major loving it bit the dust. ☹️ Amazingly I was BLOWN AWAY when after corresponding with InstantBrands I was sent a new one free of charge! Makes me want to cry! Excellent and amazing customer service!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you InstantBrands!!!!!
I highly recommend to use a recipe designed for an I.P.! If you don't, you'll have trial and error issues. There's a great internet group of people out there to help you with any questions.
I ordered this pot to replace the 8qt duo that was purchased in 2017. I was out of warranty on the 2017 unit and could not get it to come to pressure. The company was kind enough to offer me a generous discount on a new unit. I kept working with the old unit and finally got it working again! The problem was with defective seals - one had never been used at all but yet would not seal properly! And the seals were IP brand! Anyway, now I have two working 8qt Duos and I am delighted! Love my IPs and can't imagine not having one! And now I have two!!!
This particular model (Walmart exclusive) does not have any accessory. The trivet is a default accessory provided with all Instant Pot models, but not this one. Otherwise this is an excellent cooking device. Must have in every kitchen.
This product is sold as a limited edition only at walmart. See pic. I called walmart customer service, and they had to agree it says in the Description that the rack is included. This is The original instant pot . And its not a black Friday sale as the newer ones cost the same price. See more review as a pic. Walmart sells the rack for $12. *As you will see in the pic its the middle one.
The inside pot is of ceramic which was the part I didn't like at all. I would have appreciated it was written in the details of the product online. I ended up returning it for the same reason.
The product being fine as far as working is great. However shipping is something else to be desired. The box the one damaged my Insta pot had a dent and it took a week longer to arrive. Maybe FedEx is not the one to use as my personal experience has always been negative with that company. If not for the dent in the shipping issues I would've rated this at a five.
I bought my 6QT Duo in May of 2019. After 1 1/2 years of light use, I noticed a rattling noise coming from inside the base when I was reassembling it after cleaning. I removed the bottom plate, and out fell a screw head that had broken off. IP's only have a 1 year manufacturing warranty, which is in itself pretty poor IMO. When I reached out, they gave me a 25% discount code for a repl base and/or entire unit. On their website, the bases for many of the standard/popular models are out of stock. Why do you think that is? How many people are there with a similar situation to mine? I'm hesitant to repurchase another because of the poor warranty coverage and suspicious optics.
I bought one recently this instant pot due to good price. Before I used a different instant pot (6 quart) for 2 years and I wanted a bigger one which was this instant pot. Little did I know when I opened the box there was a surprise I've found. I was looking forward to the steaming rack but inside there wasn't one. as well as the instant pot is not stainless steal which I thought it was. Not only there was not the steak rack inside but in the instruction book, it was whiteout in both English and French languages and the box should have written that there was no steam rack on box.
