I like the simplicity of this unit. Place the unit a sturdy container. Add water between the min and max level found the body of the Accu slim. Set your temperature. Set your time. Add your food. Walkaway. No complicated internet connections. I don't need formulated recipes or complicated programs. I adjust the time based on what I'm cooking. So if you're looking for quick and easy this is it. If you're looking for something that will tell you how and what to cook and ingredients to add keep looking.
Creme Brulee and Cheesecake in mason jars to rump roast... they all are so easy and taste fantastic using the Accu Slim Sous Vide! The rump roast comes out like a prime rib! I use it in an Instant Pot but it can be used in any container. I highly recommend this device. If you haven't tried sous vide, use this one as it is very consistent and the settings are super easy. You don't have to have a vacuum sealer. Use mason jars. Or you can "vacuum seal" freezer bags as you submerge them into the water. It has changed my cooking habits, made cooking so much easier... I love it!
Set it but don't forget it, a 24hr cook will need to add water a few times, other than that it seems fool proof.
I have a Wolfgang Puck sous vide it lasted less than a year this sous vide is smaller more Compact and I believe higher quality for less money I would recommend it to anyone
The Acci-Slim is all that I want it to be. It is not only easy to use, but it is as fool proof as can be for delicious outcomes. An example being that steaks are perfectly cook clear through with tenderness.
Purchased the InstaPot Brand as I was familiar with it and love it! Have used it for just about every kind of meat you can put in a bag and cook. Love it! No issues, would buy another if I ever could justify having two in my kitchen.
This is a great and affordable immersion circulator, and really quiet when in operation. I love mine!
I've cooked steaks, salmon, and soft poached eggs all to perfection!
I'm not sure as of my experience (beginner!) what to write exactly.. Also my method of it's use, which I think is as most people use it, I have the silicone bags and float them in the water not touching any surface. The temperature in my larger pot varies, I typically will see the temperature will run warm, about 4-6 degrees (Fahrenheit), so if I'm trying for 140-142 I'm shooting for 136, and I will constantly watch and adjust, usually lower! At the price point it's a great addition. I will eventually get “better” equipment, but as this stands it's very good and given the temperature gap I can get it exactly where I need within 2 degrees. Which 2 degrees is not a big deal at all!
Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT let this fall in your pot of water. Ours finally dried out but it took weeks rather than days before hubby could turn it on without getting an error code. Other than that, works great, we've had several fabulous steak meals using this. I don't think there's a better way to cook filets and ribeyes.
