Holy Moly! This thing is wonderful!!! Ive been researching and reviewing portable hot tubs for a really long time. When I started reviewing them, they were around $300. So, of course I thought that was too good to be true. Boy, was I wrong. Because of my skepticism, I waited too long. I waited until someone I actually knew got one and told me how wonderful and easy this Intex hot tub is. Once I was ready, it was out of stock on every website I could find! Well, there was one that had it in stock for over $1200! Umm, no thanks! So, I continued to check Walmart.com daily, just in case, fingers crossed...finally after 2 weeks, they had one in stock within my price range. Still a little higher than the $375 my friend paid but its still a fair price for a desperate girl! The important factors for me other than price and availability were quality, size, ease of installation, ease of maintenance, warranty and return policy. Walmart offers a very good and convenient return process most of the time. So, this thing checked off each of my must have items. It came in a nice size box, well packaged, easy to slide on the tile floor to a place for unpacking. Each major piece was easy to remove from box and place where you want it without sliding and item on the floor. The tub itself is in my screened lanai. The setup was fairly easy and quick. The included instructions didn't help me at all, except for identifying the parts. I got videos from You-Tube to help me figure it out. My only suggestion would be that they put labels on connecting parts (example: A to A, or Air/Air) . I also went to Walmart to get a Chlorox Small Pool and Pond kit. The small chlorine tablets fit perfectly in the holder included with the hot tub. It took less than 5 minutes to blow up the tub itself and about an hour to fill with water. Since it was a warm day in Florida, the water temp was already 84degreees. Once the water was to the minimum line, I turned on the heater to 90degrees. Its Florida and its already hot, so I just wanted to take the chill off in the water. It does seem to heat at about one degree every 30 minutes. It comes with a locking cover for heat containment and safety. Its heavy and has heavy duty locking straps. Since I dont have small children here, with fenced in backyard and locked screen door, I don't plan to use this feature. I cancelled my order for headrest and seats, just don't need, comfy as is. Room for 4 average adults if you want to just sit. Room for 2 if you plan to do some leg exercises or splash around. Its a great place to escape from the heat and relax. Im sure itll be great in the winter as well.
This spa is manufactired so well! It is extremely sturdy material. The design of the walls even allows you the stability of sitting on the rim while swinging your legs over into the spa. My only issue has been learning how to treat the water with chemicals to keep the proper balance. I purchased the spa, 2 spa seats and water chemicals for just over $500. I've already recommended it to several friends and family members.
Material seems thick and durable. The cover has a nice locking feature. Hopefully it holds up a long time. If it does last, I think it's totally worth the money.
We absolutely love our hot tub. The only thing that I could say would make it better is if it would get hotter LOL. My husband says it's too hot. I like it scalding ! It was easy to set up everything you need is included. I would recommend buying extra filters right off the bat. It is very sturdy and a very comfortable. Very very comfortable!! ***It does say that it is a four-person hot tub, I guess that's a possibility if people sit cross-legged. I'm definitely not complaining because it's just for my husband and I. There's absolutely no way 4 adults could be in there at the same time with their legs stretched out.
It works great for our family. We have two adults and a 10-year-old and 8-year old. We all fit. We live in Michigan, and it has gotten cold, and it still works great!
I received my hot tub sooner then expected. Easy to put together. It does help me with pain. Three people comfortable and fill to minimum line. Stays heated long and more powerful then I expected. We love i
Love it Set up was simple Very clever well engineered item However box with instructions should be labeled with such ..of course, they were found in last box opened in bottom of box Intex CAN DO A BETTER JOB ON THAT As per review on line we read ... we went to U-Tube for further (wonderful) assistance Bubbles add far more massaging on back neck than we imagined We are hoping that there are no technical problems as others have noted We were frustrated about 1) Who how where when to add use chemicals Ugh delayed use of item SO.... Strongly urge u2 research what chemicals & how before it arrives if u want to use right away Intex is NO HELP in this area They told me 2go2 local spa who wanted me to return it & spend $4K w/them Also be prepared (we were not) it cannot be in direct sunlight for extended amt of time. We have ugly tarps on our deck until we can decide how better to protect. Love using it, hope it lasts Per instructions cannot be left out in weather under 39degrees so unless you use it inside, house & heat it is a 3 season item.
We have had this little jacuzzi for about 3 weeks. I'm glad we purchased the octagon instead of the circle tub. Only complaint is that I wish it would heat up faster, but as long as you remember to turn on the heat before work it will be ready when you get home.
We have set it up and put it on our deck. Set up was relatively easy but we had to use common sense because the written instructions and pictures weren't clear. It is made of a rugged plastic/rubber material and feels very sturdy for a blow-up item. We filled it, put the cover on it and within 18 hours it heated up to 104 degrees. Can't wait to sit in it tonight for the first time.
the price is great, the set-up you could do blindfolded, the convenience excellent - but they fail within a year - always! because they are so inexpensive I keep buying new ones (in ten years I will have spent less than a "real" hot tub). in every category they are tops - water use, emptying, sturdy & solid, bubbles - but the heater dies (most often problem) or the entire thing shuts down. I've added a pond heater to keep it an extra year - but have the inconvenience of it not be adjustable. and added care. but I keep buying them. In the photo I show a contraption I rigged to replace their pump with my own small pool filter and a pond in line heater..
