I did a lot of researching trying to find the perfect spa for my yard. I was going to buy the 4 person spa, but decided on the 6 person spa as it was only $40 more
Very easy to set up and quick. Took a couple of days to reach 104¬8, but we set it up in December, in Kansas. No issues what so ever We turn the heat down when we know we wont be in it due to low temperatures outside. It is soft to set in and well built
Love the spa, we use it twice a week. It is easy set up, with a solid build. Tips- to save time (if your able) disconnect the hot water from washer and connect a hose. Run it to the spa and fill with hot water. Turn the water heater to highest setting. When hot water runs out, wait a half hour for the water heater to recover and do it again. Repeat until spa is filled. It will be about 97 degrees. The spa will now only take 3 or 4 hours to get to 104 this way.
This is our second portable spa. We had the coleman 4 person which was great as well. We damaged that one during a move so we bought this one. Other than the size difference, and it is quite a bit, they work the same. Set up was easier than the Coleman, but still easy as easy can be. Heating Time......thats the biggest difference and the only reason i didnt rate this a 5. this one has a slightly different heating and filter system. This one take a very long time to warm up. its 95 degrees in the morning when i turn it on and it takes all day to get to 104. The coleman was usually at 82 degrees in the am but would easily warm up to 104 by late afternoon. Initial fill the temp was about 65ish. it took well over 24 hours(maybe 36) to heat that up. I believe this heating/filter unit that sits next to the spa provides more flow of water so one could assume it should heat up faster. it doesn't. So.....would I buy it again? 100% yes. It's great. both spas I have had are great. Easy to maintain. Little bit of shock and it's all good. Naturally, the electricity costs go up a bit. or more than a bit. If that were much of a concern, I would just take a bath instead. If you enjoy spas, which if you're reading this you most likely do, you will enjoy this one. I love em. they help with back pain and other aches. Buy it and enjoy.
I have had mine for 3 years.I have had to replace the base unit 3 times already. When it works its a great thing and I love it.I wish they would make the pump unit alittle stronger.
If you check the internet you will find many owners experiencing the dreaded "E90" code which is no water flow. Many people have pump failures. I have had two pump failures so far. I would strongly recommend against buying this product. The pump is plastic and the impeller is plastic. Don't waste your hard earned money.
From the minute we set it up, it displayed error codes that stopped operation and we had to figure out, and restart. E90, E96, E everything! We struggled with it the whole time. It would work for a couple weeks then error code out and be down for several days until we could figure out the issue. There never really was, we almost always let it sit for 24 hours unplugged and then it would reset, a few days to warm back up and repeat the process over and over and over! Intex is no help at all. The most recent issue ended up being the whole electrical plug had to be replaced, after waiting 2 weeks for the new one that we had to purchase ourselves, it still won't come back on. It's completely dead and Intex only replied that our warranty expired 2 days before we contacted them. They will do nothing. Do not waste your money on this item.
I bought this based on a high review from a friend. But here are some important things you should know prior to putting any money in. First things first, it can take up to 72 hours for this nightmare to heat and best of all, the best part is that if your unit it outside, it's affected by the weather outside. So if it's cold out, it will have issues heating sufficiently Another thing to know, despite others saying it's energy efficient, it's far from it. From the 3 days I was trying to heat it and it never got past 80 degrees, which felt like 60, my electricity bill went up $200!!! Like what?!!! Seriously?!! The reason? Not mentioned in the manual, it's 1,300 watts. Yikes!! Another thing, if you want to return it, you have to return it through a company, not Walmart. They have a 60 day return policy, after that you need to go through the weird intex warranty. I spoke to Intex twice about returning this. one time they told me that they needed a claim submitted because the motor was broken. the next person I spoke to said it was other stuff and too bad, the claim was then cancelled by her and she told me to call the company that sold it, which could do nothing. DO NOT BUY THIS. Waste of space and money. Disappointed!!! If you're putting it in your home, that's the best way to keep it warm. Otherwise don't bother with the elements outside.
It is a piece of garbage.Only lasted a year when we started having problems.I wouldn't recommend it at all.
Had the hot tub for one year and had to use my insurance twice. tub kept losing air on the first claim, (have no children or pets, was in my screen room, so no idea why), when they sent me the second tub, it was shooty work, you could tell by the way the seams were glued together, so I knew it would not last long, and I was right, it started to lose air within a couple of mouths. The manufacturer wanted US to return the whole tub, and when I found out how much it cost to ship it, ($300.00) I said NO!! Also, the pump started to flash E90, which means that water was not getting to the pump, blah blah.. Thank goodness that I purchased the insurance and come to find out that this product is beyond repair, so they gave me my money back. And I am not buying another Intex product again. But I will always purchase the insurance! Good Luck
