I needed a thermometer and my son likes the one the nurse at school uses...takes ear temp. I looked at different ones and couldn't believe the price of them! I'm sorry, but there is no way I'm spending $50 on a thermometer. I happened to stumble onto this one. For $5.99 I'll try it. I'm so happy I did. It works great. It comes with probe covers, an extra Sony battery, USB cord and program if u want to save the data on the computer. It takes 2 seconds to beep letting you know its done taking the temp. It also keeps up to 20 previous temps in case you want to compare. I love it. I hoped this helped to make your decision easier!!! ☺
