I was very hesitant on purchasing this braava jet.. I got the roomba 690 for Christmas. I have RA SJOGRENS AND FIBROMYALGIA and it's getting more difficult to sweep up and mop all the paw prints from winter paws .. so I bit the bullet and invested . And it was well worth every penny. Life saver for me.
Very durable, I can use 1 on my downstairs which is 3 rooms.I have purchased several boxes there are times when it's not convenient to wash and reuse the fabric pads
I just received Lil Bit as a Christmas gift from my husband. We have already used it in both bathrooms, the kitchen and the living room. Both of us agree this is "near perfect" for our cleaning needs. He gave me a iRoomba last year and it has become a necessity in our cleaning routine. I schedule it to run (easy peazy) and he cleans the bin. I can't wait to see what he has for me (us) under the tree next year...maybe the one that cleans the bin itself! Hint, Hint!!!
I have been skeptical for a few years about how well cleaning robots clean because I am fussy about keeping my home clean. The Braava Jet went on sale and I thought I would finally put one to the test. Well, I was so impressed how this little robot cleaned my tile floors I could not wait to buy a Rumba 980. I am also impressed how well it cleaned my carpets, you have to be patient if you have a large home because it will take a good part of a day to finish the job between charges. But no need to be in a hurry because it just keeps going until the job is done. I really love how it goes under my sectional couch and cleans because now I don't have to take it all apart to vacuum under it.
I love my Gus. He does a great job on all my floors except where we have carpet and I have "Gertie", my roomba 960 which I also LOVE. iRobot also has a great customer support team which is very helpful. Now, if they would only come out with a "duster" I would have it made. Ha!!
I own and love a Roomba for years so I knew the product would be good and perform as advertised but I didn't know that it could manage pet hair like it does! This little robot sits in a corner until I call it to action and when I do, it completely tackles small debris and pet hair without vacuuming first! It charges quickly and easily and I love the fact that there is no dock to sit around! The other thing I love is that it's absolutely silent! Unlike Roomba, you can start it when you go to bed! All in all, indispensable for a small price. Pads are also reasonably priced.
I have had a scooba and a Braava. The braava Jet beats them all...HANDS DOWN. Cleans well, easy to use, does not leak. NO DOCK to store or deal with. The battery is small-easy to remove and pop in the drawer (to save battery life vs. letting it sit). It's too new to comment on battery life. Hoping that the battery itself will not be as expensive as other Irobot batteries. The only BIG negative is the disposable cleaning pads are TOO expensive. They are easy to use - but not cost effective if you like using the machine a couple of times a week. Such a bummer. Just ordered washable pads....so I don't know how they work as compared to the disposable ones.
I am so happy that I bought the Braava Jet! I was unable to find a cleaning lady, but "he" is more reliable and eventually pays for himself! (I have been known to talk to him like a pet!) You do have to re-charge his battery in a wall fixture as there is no docking station such as the Roombas have. I have the 980 model that can be controlled by iPhone, but this feature is not available with the Braava. I prefer the pads for wet use as opposed to the washable ones because there is an embedded cleaning agent in the wet use ones. If you do not finish a job all at once, you will have to refill the water container as it will evaporate. The carrying handle is a good feature, as it the eject button so that you do not have to touch the dirty pads.
It's great how the senors work, even though for it to know there is a wall it has to crash into it. Scared me at first but it still works and if it ever does break while cleaning and crashing into walls it is covered by the Manufacturer Warranty! But the results of the cleaning are spectacular!
Since I bought my Roomba (805) my housecleaning routine has completely changed (which has really changed my life). I then bought the Braava jet on a whim...I was struggling to decide whether or not to hire a person to clean my house including my least favorite job: Cleaning bathroom floors. After a short time of use, the Braava jet has proven itself worthy. I could eat off the floors (well, almost). As the other reviewer stated, it works differently from Roomba as it does not go back to a base on its own. But that is okay. And it does not have virtual walls to keep it from going into another room (except some complicated instructions for setting them up internally that I just do not have time to lean...). But since it is mainly for bathrooms, I just simply close the door when "she" is busy about her business. For the kitchen, I lay a chair down in the doorway to say "do not enter here" and that seems to work. I was a little disappointed that the product doesn't work as well with one's own products (except with the reusable pad which is not as stiff and scrubby as the disposable ones that come with the product) as I (and the rest of the world) prefer sustainable products. I can see iRobot wanting to keep selling things to us consumers and the reusable pads are the ticket. But, I will keep trying to find a nice balance. Also the injectable feature of the pad is a little bit too much...I mean, come on, get your hands a little dirty people...or at least one can remove the pad by pulling it off from the edge... I imagine that someday the iRobot folks will create a package deal for both Roomba and Braava Jet where they both would dock together and the virtual wall devices would work for both. Overall, I love these products. They are fun and make housekeeping enjoyable. I am a baby boomer and remember the Jetson's...iRobot is making that "dream" come true!
