[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OMG where has this iRobot Roomba been all my life. I work a full time job plus I run a freelance business, I am a homeowner with two small dogs. While yes this machine may miss some smalls spot here and there the overall cleaning job is phenomenal. I have been complaining for ages that I cannot get under my bed to thoroughly clean because of how low the frame is my beautiful new precious baby was able to get under the bed, the dressers and around the nightstands with such ease, cleaning up an insane mess I was ashamed to admit was under there. I find reasons to run my iRobot, I love the ease of scheduling cleaning sessions on the app and this vacuum works extremely well on my hardwood floors and my area rugs. This Roomba is my new best friend.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This robot vacuum has made my life easier (and cleaner). Our 2 dogs shed and it's hard to keep our floors clean, but this iRobot sure does help! My daughter has seasonal allergies and keeping our home free of dust and debris is a must. It was easy to set up. I charged it for 3 hours as the instructions said, then it was ready to start cleaning. The iRobot app makes it easier to manage, even if you're away from home. The app was easy to set up. After I told it to start vacuuming it started working. We have hardwood floors, area rugs, and carpet in some rooms and it cleans everything thoroughly. Our sectional sofa has a low clearance and it did get stuck underneath it the first time I used it. But the iRobot alerted me to the problem, I restarted it and it was got back to vacuuming in seconds. You can see how intuitive it is in the video I'm including. Plus, I love the edge-sweeping brush that gets into the corners. Compared to a cheaper model we owned before (not a Roomba) this one definitely has more features and an app. It's also wider, automatically charges itself, and is more powerful. Plus, with our old model, we had to barricade the stairs to prevent it from falling, but this has sensors that recognize stairs so we don't have to put anything up which is nice. I'm very happy with my new Roomba and our home is so much cleaner since we started using it. I love being able to start it and let it do its thing while I'm working on other projects around the house. I would definitely recommend it, especially at this price point. It works great and helps me keep our floors clean with minimal effort.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This little guy is the BEST! I've bought similar remote vacuums, but wow was I missing out! This little guy cleans up everything and without missing any spots. With two children under the age 7 and two dogs my house is constantly needing to be vacuumed. Now I can multitask while this little guy does the hard work for me.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Absolutely has save me so much time. I work all the time, have two teenagers, a husband and two long hair cats, that Shed all the time. It starts cleaning the entire living room and kitchen area, which is my high volume areas, once I leave for work, started. It gets all the cat hair and any droppings from food off the floor. It has saved me so much time, that I really don't have in the first place. I start at one to leave in the morning for work, since it is a little noisy. It cleans for an hour and a half and it goes back to the charging dock it's plugged in the wall after cleans. It gets up everything. Is the best thing to invest in. The little time I do have my family, I can stay in with them since I'm not cleaning the floors. It saves so much time and it does the work. It's worth every penny. If I could get another one I would. Because it's worth it. Every night, all I have to do is to clean out the tray. That takes about a few minutes and then it's ready for the next day. It goes underneath tables, couches and TVs. It makes the floors look like I don't even have cats that live there or teenagers. It really is a must have and it is the best thing in the world that they've ever come up with.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love our new Roomba and have named him Sneaky Pete. The best thing about Sneaky Pete is how convenient, easy and effective he is. We have hardwood, carpets and tile and Pete cleans all of it! I can just press a button and let him run. He is a little bit noisy so I prefer to do it while I'm not home or not while I'm trying to go to sleep. I can even start him when I'm not home if I want using the easy app. It was a super easy setup, he's easy to clean and everything is just easy. I now have clean floors because I use him everyday!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm so grateful to have received the iRobot Roomba 694 for testing purposes. I've wanted a Roomba for a long time, but I never wanted to actually pay for one (adulting, amirite?). If you're on the fence, I say go for it! I am lazy. I hate doing chores. It takes me long enough to do the dishes and wash laundry, let alone vacuuming. I maybe vacuum once every couple of months (YIKES!). And I have a very fluffy, very shed-y cat in my family. It's a mess. But with the Roomba, about twice a week, I sweep all the mess from the steps onto the main floor of our house (typically lots of fur and some kitty litter), then I get the Roomba going with just a click on my phone in the iRobot app. It's super user-friendly and I mostly just do that bare minimum, but the app allows you to do all kinds of customization for your robot vacuum baby. The most I did was name it Rupert. Anyways, once I click the start on my phone, I just go back upstairs to do whatever I need to do and let the Roomba run free. It cleans up all the mess I swept from the stairs, cleans the kitchen, goes up under the sofas and tables. It has a brush that extends to reach corners, and it will go back over places that are super dirty to keep the clean. It's been a godsend for the area around the litter box and clears the area so well. My cat hates it, so she's not in the way downstairs. It has a sensor on it to keep it from falling down the stairs, so it really does just get to roam free. Once it's done cleaning, it goes back to its home (the charger). You can also tell it to go home if you need it to stop cleaning, and you can schedule regular cleanings (for example, every Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 10 am) so it just gets going and you don't have to do anything with it. It's great! It also comes with two filters (one already installed, one extra to change after a few months). And it's super easy to set up. Just plug in the charger, the sit the Roomba up against it to charge. It lets you know when it's fully charged and ready to go. It plays little chimes when it starts and finishes, so you know even from a different part of your house. Some cons: It's noisy. It sounds like a vacuum, so it's not a silent and stealthy vacuum. Plus the start and end chimes are pretty loud and a little alarming until you get used to them. Let it run with a light on. We have steps leading from our kitchen to the garage. I had the lights all off downstairs and it fell down the steps (it's fine, no worries), so now I run one of the overhead lights to make sure it knows the steps are there. It makes a mess of cat food before cleaning it. It knocks into the food bowls spilling food. You can buy a sensor to keep it away from the food, but I haven't done that yet so right now it's a bit annoying. You've got to empty the debris catcher after every single run if you've got a pet. Annoying, but not a major deal since I'm not actually doing the rest of the work. And it's super easy to pop out the chamber and empty it out. OVERALL, it's great. It makes me incredibly happy and cleans up so I don't have to. Thank goodness. I highly highly recommend purchasing a Roomba if you just don't have the time or need to vacuum often. ESPECIALLY if you have pets.
I have had a Roomba 500 series for 15 years. She just kept doing the job! Just moved on to the 694. It is quieter, cleans better and seems to have the same build quality. Two design flaws - First, no handle, you now need to pickup your Roomba like a sea turtle. Second, the only way to charge is the base…in the old model you also had a plug port.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wasn't expecting to like the iRobot Roomba 694, as I had tons of issues with the app, which still even after requesting support doesn't work. However, the unit itself really has surprised me. The iRobot Roomba was something I have wanted for years, but I had only seen those demos at the big box store. So I had never seen one in real-life situations, so I have always been concerned about how it would do in a home with a teen, pets as I am a rescue pack mom, plus I have tile, hardwood, rugs, as well as areas of carpet. I'll be honest all the issues with the app, made me nearly give up on it, but once I had tried it manually, all that changed for me. Not only did it handle pet hair, crumbs, scattered kitty litter, a tiny piece of paper on the floor I didn't at first notice until it was sucked up, it also beautifully handled any obstacles on the floor (furniture, books, shoes, etc) but transitioned from surface to no problem! Plus just to test how well George (that is what we named it) would find it's base, so sure it found it easily after it drove itself away, but what if I moved it from its base and even moved its base a bit?? Well, George had no problem finding it base (home) Sure it takes a bit of time to charge, but so does a stick vac I have. Is it noisy? Yes, a bit, but nothing like my shop vac, or even my old upright, or steam mop. So why the 4-star and not the 5-star rating? well I am rating this as a whole, and because of the app, I give it 4-stars. However, based on my time with it, the paces I have put it through, the fact that it has handled cat hair, dog hair, crumbs, kitty litter, dust, plus it transitions easily from the different types of flooring in our home, I'm really happy with it. *I am a blogger, I have been gifted this product for review, I am NOT being compensated for this review. I love this roomba. I was actually surprised by how much dirt it picks up. The only thing I'm disappointed by is that I've only used this 11 times and 2 of the side brush bristles broke off so I already have to get replacements. If they're a bit flimsy like that there should be some extras with the original purchase of the vacuum.
If I could give this 0 stars, I would. My son gave this to me as a Christmas present. There were delays in its arrival which delayed it getting to me until mid-January. The biggest disappointment was how poor this picked up my Lab's fur from the floor and rugs. It pulled fibers out of my Crate and Barrel rugs and matted them. I had it scheduled for a daily clean and there were clumps of fur in various areas of my home. It would also get stuck in areas and eventually turn off. Finally, I spent at least 30 min each week cleaning the brushes (see picture for after shot). When I contacted customer support the first time, they said they would accept it as a return. I gathered the necessary information and called back only to be told that it was 2 days over the 60 day trial and a return was not possible. Substandard product and substandard customer service.
