[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Walking into my home after my new Roomba i7 has done its job just makes my heart smile. I love walking into my home to my floors al nice and clean. Although the docking station is larger than older models this larger size allows for a dust bin in the docking station taking away the need to empty it after every use. Being able to use my Alexa along with the Roomba i7 is an added bonus. We've only used the Roomba a few times so far but it far exceeds our expectations and look forward to continue using it on a regular basis.
The Roomba i7 is a life saver and worth every penny in my house of 4 Border Collies and a daycare/night dog boarding business. Until I bought this gem, keeping my floors clean was a stressful challenge that was getting ahead of me. Before putting it into service, I did thoroughly vacuum my wall-to-wall carpeting and linoleum floors. Once that was done, the Roomba has performed quite well. It takes some tweeking and patience, but once I overcame the learning curve, I have been amazed by its engineering and the toughtfulness that went into its invention. Kudos to the brains behind the machine! My favorite feature is the self-emptying waste bin. Wow!
The fact that it goes home to empty itself into a large bin is a game changer. Love that it maps the rooms of my house. Integrates well with Google home. "Hey Google, vacuum the laundry room."
We remodeled and removed a lot of carpet, replacing it with hardwood floors. We were concerned that there would be more physical maintenance and thus, time involved. We are retired, but active...housekeeping is important but NOT the focus of our life. Based upon minimum wage, we estimated that the Roomba would pay for itself in less that a year...great Return On Investment! We selected the i7 because of the advanced features AND that it empties itself. We recently changed out the disposable bag in the base...after SIX WEEKS of use. We run the Roomba on a three times per week schedule. Love it! Don't know what we would do without it...actually we do...we would be sweeping the floor several hours per week.
I am impressed with Ivar's ability to maneuver over multiple types of thresholds in my 1921 rental bungelow, and his ability to transition effortlessly between hard flooring and rugs. He does excellent on my low and mid pile rugs, but struggled with my high pile rug. Ivar did well in the open areas of the high pile rug, but kept erroring out while under the bed (too dark?). Every now and then he misses a piece of cat food, or errors out if he sucked up a cat toy. Clearing the error is incredibly quick and simple. I love sitting on my floors and not being covered in lint or crumbly things. My floors are clean and I'm not stepping on cat litter scatter in the laundry room. I have no dust bunnies and my baseboards are clean. I rearrange my furniture often as well, but Ivar scoots around and does what he is programmed to do without fail. I love the programming and mapping features, and think the automated emptying is a total luxury. Best splurge ever.
After losing my 3 month old vacuum after warranty repair I was told they were sending me a new vacuum. Assured me it wasn't going to be a refurbished model. If they replace my lost like new model with a new model I will be satisfied.
I took pics of the mess it leaves every time I use it in the bedroom with a large rug on a wood floor. It seems to be scraping dirt & pet hair off of the rug & then drops it when it rtns to the wood floor. I literally have to roll the rug up in order for Hazel to clean up after herself, or sweep it up myself. You should include a broom & dustpan with this thing.
This unit is terrible. We bought it to replace a Eufy L70 which we liked but had issues with the rolling brush and unit was out of warranty. The i8 unit leaves dog fur clumps -everywhere- ...it just seems to push dog fur around. It is far noisier than the eufy L70, has no suction H/M/L option and dies before it gets to the base. It also has not yet self emptied into the bin as promised (but the app tells us it needs it). Feels like a $600+ poorly functioning robo vac. There are better products out there based on our experience so far....and the price is so high we had high expectations. Don't waste your money.
absolutely stuff nightmare are made from. First 4 maybe 5 days worked ok. Then from that point on i got new error code after error code. slightly at 3 weeks it started telling me batteries codes. I tried my husband tried and my older son tried and it just kept on telling me to restart reset it. Never ran again. This was a true nightmare.
After a couple months of use, got the "error 26" message, and low suction. Bought the recommended $100 replacement cleaning head module from this site. The new module does not have the chip for the bin sensor, so the vacuum no longer self empties and constantly shows messages to empty the bin.
