once again old school brand that works and it's a great low price , you can't ask for more, lol I remember ivory bar soap from decade's ago , mom would buy it only when we went camping ...???? because it floats and it was pure ,we had to bath in the lake/Creek ,I know get a fat ticket for that now !!!!!!!
My wife and I have been using this soap for over a decade even before we met. Early on it was easy on the skin, removed stains that no other soap could and smelled nice, not overwhelmingly strong like most. However, in the past year or so, it has begun drying my skin out, no linger floats like it has for over 100 years, smells far stronger struggles a little more with stains, and isn't quite as effective of wool as it was. That was the killer for me, I discovered Ivory soap's history as a wool laundering soap a few years back and used it, softening and cleaning my wool like no other soap or dry cleaner could. Recently, it has stopped softening the wool as much, and I have to work harder to get it clean as well. Ivory, I am sorely disappointed and will be seeking out other soaps that use your original recipe in some way, or making it myself UNLESS you start making your original soap again. I don't care if you make other stuff, but many of us NEED your old recipe due to skin issues or historical laundering needs. Most people I have contacted are willing to pay double if we have to, just make the old stuff again. Thanks for your time.
Well, there is something off with the new version. Firstly, there is a bad smell to it, rather repellent to be frank. Also, it doesn't float anymore! I'd like it to float once more, but really the big problem is that smell. PLEASE change the scent back.
I've used Ivory for 40 + years. It is not the same product I have known all this time. The bar split like cheap hotel soap and it stinks like grease or old wax. I have a feeling there has been a change, not only to the formula, but to the product development team. Go "fail upward " somewhere else, we like the classics as they were - CLASSIC.
Whelp, the stuff on store shelves is not the original anymore, it's an impostor, an impostor that doesn't even float. Also smells quite bad. Proctor and Gamble, why lie to us? we can tell when a soap bar stops floating. Don't call it original ivory when it so very clearly is not.
I think you have change the product, the texture of the soap is not the same. I have psoriasis and the old ivory soap is the only soap i can utilise. But you have change the ingredient and now i have more and more psoriasis. Why... I look the list of the ingredient of the old and the new and is not the same... Why you have change the product...??
This is not the same formula that it was last spring. I am a chemistry teacher and use ivory soap in a gas law demo. Put the soap in the microwave to watch the gases expand (Charles's Law). Teaching for 19 years and for the last 18 it worked perfectly. This year, I have tried 7 bars and they all expand weirdly. They get bumpy. Normally they look like clouds.
I've used and loved Ivory soap for decades. Something has change however and Quality has seriously declined!! The bar soap now has hard “chunks” randomly imbedded in it that rip up your hands. Super uncomfortable to use! I'll be using a different soap from now on.
Bought a pack of I think 10 and they STINK. So bad I threw the one out and will probably throw out the rest. I don't want to waste but even homeless people don't need this crap
I have used Ivory soap for 40 years and it is one of the only soaps that does not cause irritation or I should did not cause irritation until recently. Obviously this is a new formula you're not hiding anything we know it doesn't float it falls apart and now I have dry flaky skin like any other soap please return the original because I will not buy it again until you do very disappointed wish I could give negative Stars!
