I LOVE THIS PATTERN
I work on Christmas stockings year round. I have just started working on this kit and thus far am enjoying it very much.
This was the 9th felt stocking I've made. I usually use Bucilla, but this was so cute, I decided to order it. The instructions aren't the best. Luckily, because I've made a few now, I don't need to use the instructions, but if you're a first timer, it may be a little frustrating.
I really like the stocking but am having a hard time understanding why better instructions were not given in the kit. Jennifer gave me a link for the creator of the kit that should be able to help me. However, I have not heard from them as of yet.
The directions are not as easy to follow as they say if you do not know different stitches, but the numbers are easy to follow. I just made it look like the picture. I am almost finished and my son really likes it.
This is a nice Christmas stocking, but more work than the product detail suggested. Instructions were more difficult to follow than I had anticipated. You mostly look at a picture and figure out what needs to be sewed on first, 2nd etc. It was hard to tell what piece overlaid another. If you love to sew, you probably won't mind though.
The stocking kit did not supply enough white sequins.
This is not for a beginner, the instructions are very confusing if you have never made these before. Luckily I've made a few and new what I needed to do. Even though I've made a lot of these in the past, I still had to revert to the picture to see how it was done, since the instructions are not too clear. I gave this only 1 star because of the instructions not being clear and because mine came without the beads. I called Customer Service and they told me to buy them myself!!! Horrible customer service. I will NEVER by this brand again, and will continue with Bucilla!!
I have made 15+ stockings, this is my first Janlynn stocking. I found the directions to be confusing to other brands. It did not come with enough sequins, but I had extra from different stockings. The numbered pieces are so blurred or light that you are unable to see where the next piece should go. I e-mailed Janlynn because I had one piece that I could not read the numbers on and it is one of the main pieces that most of the other pieces attach to so I am unable to continue because if I miss place one of the other pieces the whole project will be ruined, I have not heard anything from Janlynn. I have several hours already invested in this project not to mention the cost of the kit and will be unable to complete it if they don't send me a replacement piece or at least a diagram of the piece so I can figure out where the next pieces should go. I refuse to buy a whole new kit just for that piece. I will never buy another Janlynn kit again no matter how cute they are.
