The JBL Charge 4 is pretty impressive for such a small bluetooth speaker. Amazingly it only uses a single 50mm x 90mm driver that produces 30W of power. The single driver is accompanied by two passive bass radiators that assist to produce bass notes as low as 60hz. At first you may think why would JBL take the approach of using a single driver rather than dual divers? Well I can assure you that the single driver inside the Charge 4 is a high quality driver that produces excellent sound. The whole package just works and sounds great. I compared both the Charge 4 with its predecessor for hours and hours and this is my conclusion. The previous generation is a great sounding speaker however the Charge 4 sounds even better. Now you may think, how can a mono speaker outperform a stereo speaker? It's simple, the drivers in most small bluetooth speakers are so close to each other that is difficult for you to hear the stereo separation to begin with. To really hear stereo separation from a stereo speaker the left and right channels need to be further apart from each other. I found that the best listening position is vertically with the J from the JBL logo towards the bottom. The JBL Charge 4 sound is well balanced with clear vocals, great treble and great bass. The mid-range frequencies are pushed forward and crystal clear. The Charge 4 is powered by a 27Wh battery rated at 7,800mah and is rated at 20 hours play time between charges. The JBL Connect+ allows you to pair additional JBL speakers with the same feature flawlessly. This is a great feature for syncing several speakers throughout a party area. Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity is good with long range and the speaker is IPX7 water proof just in case you need to submerge it in water. The materials and build quality is excellent as usual. The charging port has now been upgraded to USB C and the speaker can charge your phone via a standard USB A connector. All in all the JBL Charge 4 is an excellent all around bluetooth speaker with improved sound quality over its predecessor. Pros: Well balanced sound with clear vocals No distortion at maximum volume Battery life IPX7 water proof USB C charging port Cons: No speaker phone [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I want to see my art on a jbl speaker. And it work out great. I'm going to do more . 100% greatness
Looks amazing! Awesome sound quality, we love it!!
The sound quality is a lot better than the JBL Charge 3. At low volume and high volume, the sound is excellent. The design is very good, and it has great battery life. It is a little bit bigger than the Charge 3. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I barely got it and I love it. At first I was nervous to get it because I saw a couple bad reviews but it is everything I hoped it would be. I saw how people would say that it doesn't sound even but mine does. I love it I got the pink one and it is so cute!!!
I have had my JBL Charge 4 for about three weeks and I love it. It is small but powerful. I like taking it out by the fire pit and listening to music while winding down after a long day on the farm. It is Small, convenient, and has very good sound quality.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very impressed with the new JBL charge 4. The sound is clear and has more boomy base compared to the Charge 3, which I own also. The JBL charge 4 is a definite improvement with the louder base. Other improvements are that It does have a higher capacity battery (7500 mAh) than the charge 3 which is 6000 mAh and a type C charge for it, which to me is better and faster on charging. Also the JBL charge 4 is slightly bigger than the JBL charge 3. The speaker is waterproof (IPX7) and with the higher capacity battery makes an even better powerbank to charge your device while listening to music for a longer time . Just don't forget to download the JBL connect app to connect more than one JBL speaker and to keep up with any firmware updates. I have to honestly say the JBL Charge 4 is an improvement from the charge 3. When comparing the two with features and sound I choose the JBL charge 4.
I was amazed when I learned you could customize your jbl and even more excited when they had photo uploads customization options. I chose my favorite painting and uploaded it as the design and it looks perfect as if it were a unique design. I love it because it's sentimental and no one else would have my design. They did a great job on displaying exactly what I wanted. Also a great speaker overall, I've been needing a new good quality speaker and when I saw these were on sale, I just had to do it. For a customized speaker, the price was very reasonable and cheaper than I expected. Not enough people know you can customize your jbl speakers!
Absolutely love this speaker. I live a pretty active lifestyle, and this speaker is the perfect size to take with me wherever I go. Its about the size of a water-bottle and fits in the side-pocket of my backpack. Great for hiking/day trips. The durable/waterproof design and ability to charge my phone are just bonuses. Don't worry about it being too small though, it gets louder than I'd ever need. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Purchased 2 of these recently from an authorized dealer and received 2 different models of the speaker in my shipment. CHARGE4S and CHARGE4J. The model numbers on the box itself are the same, but the actual speakers inside are different! Setting them side by side there are notable physical differences such as a much thinner/see thru mesh on the J model. Also the charging indicator lights are dimmer and harder to see on the J. No telling what's different inside. According the FCC filings the S has a 7500mah battery while the J has a 7800mah battery. Disappointing that I didn't receive 2 of the same speaker. If you are going to change the hardware in the box you should release a new version and make it clear to customers which model they are getting!!!
