Super great product, I was searching for a "Sonos" alternative for my home, with the bluetooth connect possibility... most of the wifi connected Speakers are not able to connect by direct bluetooth, but JBL Link is.. we love it!!!! Can use it with our TV by bluetooth if wanted also... This model sounds a little more bass than the Link Portable that we also bought, but has no battery, so it's perfecto for an office, kitchen or bedroom... to use it.. and also connect with Google Home (or for the Apple ones with Apple AirPlay)
We got this for our living room and its perfect for what we need. It links up fine with spotify and apple air play so we can use our phones or just tell it what to play. The sound is good and fills the room. The only thing i would add would be an app with an Eq so i could adjust the sound.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little skeptical about this speaker at first because of the small size but let me tell.. this thing sounds GREAT. This is my first smart speaker and I am loving it. I didn't think I would be using this as much. I love how it flawlessly connected to my Google Home setup and my other smart connected app. It doesn't take much room at all. It looks great on my home music studio desk. If you are thinking about this speaker you won't regret it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been playing with this speaker for a month now. The speaker has a small footprint. It's a little taller than my UE Wonderboom. It's a plug in speaker only. I wish it had the ability to be wireless seeing it's a small form factor. I have two other link units. The 300 and the view. Both have superb sound. The link music has a very flat sound. It gets reasonably loud for its size. The sound is simply good. I am using this in the basement to listen to music while working on my electronics. The fact that it has google assistant is great. I simply give the speaker commands and it follows and answers. Even when the music is up loud, the speaker reacts to commands. This is the first link speaker to offer airplay. I absolutely love this speaker. All the link speakers can be linked together but it's the Link music that has airplay. I would recommend using this speaker in smaller settings and pushed towards a corner for optimal sound reproduction. Setup of this device was simple. Plug it in and follow the commands on the google home app. My kids have become accustomed to using this speaker because of the google assistant. All of the questions they would typically ask me are now redirected to the speaker. I am slowly adding a jbl link speaker to every room of my house. It's pretty cool how they can all play the same material at the same time. You can adjust each speakers volume and settings separately so it's not to overwhelming. As always you get great Jbl build quality, features and sound with this unit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Review - JBL Link Music I received this speaker about 2 weeks ago and have thoroughly enjoyed using it. I was impressed by the ease of set-up and the sound quality, right out of the box. There was plenty of bass to vibrate the top of my entertainment unit even at 1/3 volume, while not blowing out the highs or sounding overly droning. The mid and high ranges are crisp and clean, yet warm...carrying that traditional JBL sound I've become accustomed to. The fact that it sends music 360 degrees and the microphone picks up easily from wherever I am in the room, makes it a pleasure to have and use. Google Home setup worked without a hitch the first time and even worked well immediately with my LG B6 OLED TV and attached Chromecast 4K Ultra. I really look forward to adding more Google Home voice activated components very soon. Overall, I think it's a great product!
Had this about a month now. The sound is nice and round, more bass than a Google home mini but not excessive. Sadly there is no EQ built in and it can't be EQ'd via Google home app, this is pretty disappointing. Also the voice activation is a little bit vague, often missing the wake-up command.
I just received this speaker after hearing really great reviews and the set up sucks. I have been trying for two hours to pair with my iPhone and there were no clear instructions provided nor is there any on the internet I believe myself to be very tech savvy but no where am I able to find easy to follow instructions and I'm still trying to figure it out.
Purchased this to use as a bluetooth or wifi connected speaker to stream audio from a PC. Normally a quick job to complete. No mention on the box that it REQUIRES a google account to work at all. No mention on the box that it REQUIRES a phone instead of a PC to work at all.
My wife and I were recently gifted these speaker for X-mas from my mother. the set-up for bluetooth is ridiculous as you need to the google home app for the speakers to somehow work for connection (which did not work for either of us) and need home WiFi connection to make the speakers finish with the set-up connection. why I cannot directly connect the speakers to my phone with bluetooth is a basic design flaw for me as bluetooth was originally invented to connect without needing a internet connection or unnecessary additional app downloads. my wife and I are in the process to give these speakers back for a refund as this model has been over complicated in design for what should of been, a very straightforward set-up.
The speaker sound quality is actually good. What brought it down to 1 star are the combination of Google appeasement, very difficult setup, and no power button. The fact that it did not disclose you would require Wifi and Google Account and Google Home in order to be able to connect to Bluetooth mean there are a lot of hoops to jump instead of plug (or Bluetooth) and play. It is also difficult to setup. A number of times bluetooth keeps saying couldn't connect and even with Google Home setup, it takes a while before the speaker was detected (it's not turn on and it quickly connect or visible). On my first test, the device disconnected and any attempt to reconnect failed resulting having to unpair and forget device and restart. Lastly, there is no power button. Think about that for a second. So if you have to use BT all the time (eg: Smartwatch), this device will ALWAYS connect to your phone and if you try to play music in your bedroom, the sound will appear downstairs from this device and I have no way to separate it other than unlink it. Not to mention constant BT connect to phone drains battery. Work around solution is to go long press BT on your phone and toggle Audio to 'no' and toggle back to 'yes' when ready to listen to music. Fortunately I got it real cheap so not too painful I guess.
