first, let me say two things: 1. this is not a beginner's book. 2. I highly recommend this for anyone who knows something about BJJ already and is interested in learning an mma specific, gi-less wrestling/jiu-jitsu hybrid. if you know anything about eddie bravo or 10th planet jiu-jitsu, you understand that his system is somewhat different than what would be considered "traditional" BJJ. it utilizes things like underhooks and additional flexibility to replace what traditional BJJ utilizes the gi to accomplish(grip, leverage, so on). my only complaint is a slight shortage of transitionary pictures for some of the moves. I find myself looking back over and over again at the pictures to understand the movements that he's making, and it would be easier to understand if there were just an additional one or two images per move. I understand eddie bravo has released another two books to expand on certain aspects of this book, complete with those additional pictures. I would recommend getting this book first, and then deciding on whether or not you want to move on to his other, more focused books.
A great book, excellent instructions, descriptions and examples. Couldn't ask for a better buy.
