Love these potatoes. It drives me nuts when I buy a bunch of potatoes and they are so tiny. These officially have been my go to potato. Peeling a couple of big ones is way better than a ton of tiny ones to prepare a meal. I Never get potatoes in grocery pick up, I like to pick my own. I check them before buying. Haven't had an issue with rotten ones yet. It usually takes us 2 1/2 weeks to eat a bag. I make a lot of breakfast casserole so they come in handy, also doing baked or twice baked potatoes.
I ordered a 5 pound bag of jumbo russet potatoes. When I opened the bag, I was shocked to find half of the potatoes were starting to mold. Two potatoes were severely split and deeply molded. Most of the others had cuts and bruised. In the past, I ordered this item from Walmart and was pleased with the quality of the potatoes. I usually order individual baking potatoes if I just want to bake one or two potatoes. What went wrong this time?
Another item I'm not pleased about is the bag of Russet potatoes. The bag was ripped open and I'm not so sure that a potato or two were missing from it. It was a wide enough rip that a jumbo potato could have easily fallen out! I do understand mishaps. I'm not blaming anyone. The young man that delivered our order was just as kind and took very good care of our items! I forgot to ask his name. He was a gentleman!
These have increased on price from $6 to $14. Absolutely not worth the money. If you are lucky they will actually be jumbo potatoes but mostly they are just normal size russets. When you are charging a premium price I at least expect to get edible potatoes.
I purchased these potatoes yesterday, August 10th and this is the quality of potatoes I received. Three of them were broken halves, that were rotten. One was completely rotten. Several had split marks and one was almost split in half. Considering I paid $12.88 for the 8 pound bag, I had to throw several away. You will see in the one photo a potato next to a paring knife. Obviously it is NOT a jumbo potato. Most of the ones in the bag were small. Definitely not worth what I paid.
the entire bag has green skins. a little green not a problem but the whole potato needs to be peeled making it not a baking potato suitable for eating skins. unsightly and stomach aches to follow if i served the skins. looks like the entire bag left exposed to direct sunlight for several days at least. very irresponsible handling
Over half of my potatoes that were delivered were molded.
Had WalMart delivery today. 6 potatoes came in the bag for $10.88 4 were rotten. 2 of were so disgusting and black. The delivery driver apologized and explained he did not do the shopping the groceries were given to him and he just delivered them. I've only had a few items I've had to return because they were rotten or just plain not edible and it's all been produce or potatoes. Other than that every time I've ordered WalMart delivery customer service has been amazing, I always get my order on time in great condition.
Just decided to have a baked potato and this is what I found. Walmart are you going to make this right???? All but a couple were cut and damaged with small cut pieces in the bottom of the bag! 😡
Walmart doesn't know the difference between Jumbo and small to medium-sized potatoes. I bought two bags of Jumbo Potatoes, and one bag was 3/4 filled with small to medium-sized potatoes, while 1/2 of the other bag was filled with small to medium-sized potatoes. A potato that measures 3-4" inches is NOT a Jumbo Potato. This is not the first time I've experienced this problem. (see photos attached)
