I have been looking for a product like this for awhile now and was so excited to find this! I found it really easy to use and easy to understand the translations. I travel a lot so the fact that it is small and light makes it easy to bring along! I definitely recommend this product, it is awesome!
I love this product. I use for all my vacations. I recently traveled to Mexico and found it so handy while shopping, eating at restaurants and even on my excursions. I also used it during my Mediterranean cruise. I found if so convenient when traveling to Italy, France and Spain. I saved all the phrases I used the most under my favourites. The backlit feature was fabulous when traveling in the taxi cabs and the alarm was also great. I didn't have to use my cell phone for my alarm. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone!
I bought this because I thought it looked like a cool product for the price. Its easy to use and the translation is easy to understand. I have been really impressed by how simple it is to use since I'm not the greatest with electronic products. I'm going to purchase another one for a Christmas gift!
I am qualified to review the French language tool in this device, and it is perfectly adequate for the usual tourist needs. I'm less qualified to review the Spanish and Italian tools, but they seem fine. The user interface is easy and straightforward. It's light and pocket-sized. Battery life seems good. I'll take it on my next trip to China.
You really cannot beat the value for the price. Similar models in the same price range do not work as well as this one based on my personal comparisons done at a store. It certainly is small enough to make it easy to carry around. The talking function is great when you are not sure of pronunciation and the best feature. The intuitive keypad makes it a breeze to use without instructions over the higher end models. It also has a backlit screen for easy night viewing. Another plus is pretty good translations since the German and French phrases were tested and found to be accurate. They even include features I have never used (alarm and ability to make a contact list) that make it look like they thought of everything. Instead of taking a couple of phrase books (if you are going to more then one place on your vacation like a cruise) - then this little gem will become your best friend.
Small. Handy. Works as advertised. Will be very useful in traveling foreign lands. And a kudo to the manufacturer... they have chat support which really speeds things up if one has any questions or problems. Would definitely recommend to friends.
For the price, the Nyrius Entourage7 talking travel translator is a great companion to have when traveling to any of the countries that speak the languages contained in this unit. More compact and faster to use than a language book, and easy to use as well. Not much else to say that other reviewers haven't - it works well, is compact and easy to use, and can get you through some awkward situations when traveling.
The Nyrius Entourage 7 was not at all what I expected; however, it is not an item I'd return. What I don't like about it, it does not give me the option of entering what I want translated. It is a good study tool for someone getting ready to travel or for someone learning Spanish.
I expected a translator that I could speak into, & it would translate in the setup language..!! This was quite a expectation for $20.00...... Althou I did read the advertisements real well & could not find wording that it would not do what I had hoped.. The reason for the poor rating is not the above, but the fact that it turns off & has to be reprogramed which takes time & effectively makes it useless.
Arrived with a torn package, paper work in the folds of the box. The instrument had a large black blotch in the LCD screen. Could not see the options.
