[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] TREX is the favorite Dino of my 4 yr old. He is thrilled to break the Dino out of his restraints, stomping through/on his other dinos and the realistic sounds just take his imagination to the next level. These interactive toys allow for the best adven
We love all the series! My 4 year old can name most of these dinosaurs app using the app to track them and get info is fun but educational. He was waiting for the T-Rex.
Bought this as a gift for my grandson's 7th birthday, as he loves dinosaurs. He loves playing with it, has been "attacking" all his monster trucks, when it "breaks free" of it's head lock. His imagination is going wild!!!! He hasn't "fought" his other dinos, yet, as they all need new batteries, (he wore them out). Will be buying more dinos for the holidays.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son LOVES this t-rex! It is well made and sturdy and all parts work as expected. The only thing I don't like is the cage that goes on his head. It is meant to break apart when the back button is pushed to make the Dino look like he is breaking free. Sometimes it works great, but sometimes it won't stay on. But overall we love it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son loves the dinosaur. It was easy to get it out of the box and easy to use. My son loves playing with it. It keeps him occupied for hours. The dinosaur is long and it makes noise. He said, it's so cool. It's durable and it looks almost real.
2021 Mattel Jurassic World Dino Escape “Stomp 'n Escape” Tyrannosaurus Rex Mattel has a tradition of releasing a brand new Tyrannosaurus with each new toyline. This year's “Dino Escape” is no exception. This time, however, Mattel has given fans a feature that they have been asking for since the Mattel era began back in 2018: Capture Gear! More similar to the restraint gear from 1997's “The Lost World” figures than the capture gear of Jurassic Park Series 2, this new capture gear lets the beast break free with the activation of an action gimmick. The gear is easy to apply, and the feature works smoothly. It really is a ton of fun! With the push of a button, the Tyrannosaur rears up with a mighty roar, bursting the restraint into pieces. A second gimmick sees you twisting the tail to activate a stomping action and sound. This one is very unique, and is far better than the old method of slamming your toy down to activate a stomping noise. The action gimmicks do come at the expense of true poseability. However, the stomping gimmick, in particular, is going to open up a world of posing options for photographers with enough patience to work with it. The sculpt is fantastic, which is expected with Mattel's Tyrannosaurs. They have truly nailed the look of the Jurassic franchise T.rex. I will say the sculpted details aren't quite as sharp as on the “Epic Roarin'” Tyrannosaurus from last year, but are more pronounced than those of the “Stomp ‘n Strike” from 2018, or “Bite ‘n Fight” from 2019. The only area lacking in decent detail is the interior of the mouth. The teeth are done beautifully, but the tongue and other mouth details are pretty weak. It's an unfortunate step down from the detailed rubber tongue of the “Epic Roarin” rex. The paint applications help to elevate this release to another level. This is, in my opinion, the best coloration Mattel has done on a Tyrannosaur so far. The dark brown body looks closer to the 1993 animatronic than ever before, and the mottled splotches across the back are applied brilliantly. I even love the counter shading on the underside of the figure. The toy features fully painted claws on both feet and hands this time, which is something I wish Mattel would do more often. My only issues with the paint would be that both the counter shading and the mottling end far sooner than they should have. This is a common complaint with Mattel figures, but a minor one in the grand scheme of things. This is yet another amazing Tyrannosaurus from Mattel. With the excellent action gimmicks, awesome paint deco, movie accurate sounds, and the added bonus of the long awaited return of capture gear, this is a must have release for collectors. It's also a great flagship release for Dino Escape, and I cannot wait to see where the line goes from here!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The T-Rex is a nice size, has a button on his back that you push to make him growl and bust out of the cage. At first I thought the cage wouldn't stay shut but my four year old had the T-Rex eating a soldier. As long as there isn't anything in the T-Rex's mouth he will growl, open his mouth and the cage will open up. My four year will play for hours with this toy and loves to show him to anyone that comes around.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This T-Rex is very cool! He is quite large and really good quality. You push a button on his back and he opens his mouth and roars. You can also put a cage over his mouth and it will break off when you hit the button. That is my sons favorite part. Overall this is a great toy if your kids love dinosaurs!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this complimentary in exchange for our honest opinion. The dino is larger than I would normally like, but my son loves it. For size reference, it fits into a full size backpack the long way. The tiny piece that came with it to attach the muzzle is going to get lost, I just know it. Otherwise, the sounds were great and not loud at all! My 5 year old is figuring out the best type of floor to use the product on in order to have it walk. He quickly learned the carpet was not an option. I was about to help when I realized that him figuring that out is all part of the learning experience. The fact that there is also a show to watch that corresponds with this dino is great because it sparks more imaginative play when it's over. The instructions were clear and my son likes the dino, in fact it comes to restaurants with us now!
My 4yo loves this high quality toy. He's too young to have seen the movie so i don't understand the context of the face cage so i threw that out bc it seems cruel even if dino can break it.
