Heats up it 350* in about 6 minutes and holds there so I can sear and cook steaks (1.25") medium rare , in 5 min a side --- you have to reset the timer to 5 min each time you want to cook
We just received this for Christmas and have used it several times. Quick and easy for chicken breasts and fish. Have yet to attempt steak. It is surprisingly easy to clean!

Overall build quality is better than expected. Timer functions as additional safety. Heats quickly, and uniformly. Reverseable grills to smoothe are easy to clean; has a lip that steers excess grease to catch appropriately. Easy push-button releases grills. I'm well satisfied with overall design for a compact unit. Top latches to bottom for standup storage with less footprint. The temperature setting is a rotary control marked in degrees F. ; the timer is mechanical and turns the unit on and off. On, and ready lights are helpful. Reasonable price-point for this type and quality of grill. I would recommend to family/friends. Also, I would buy again.
Cooks fast but takes some time to heat..the grill wont start until you turn the timer.thats the only drawback..but bang for your buck
So the grill is small and cold easily be stored away. The design is flawed because the grease from the burgers I made just sat there and that defeats the purpose of buying this type of grill. The grease drains but there is splatter in the front and the rest is pooling. The need to have to turn on that annoying timer just to turn the grill on is highly annoying. I bought this because I didn't want to own an expensive plastic George Foreman again. I had one and a replacement break the same way cause it's plastic. Now this thing. No tilt function for the grease to drain and a giant mess to clean up with each use. I used once and do not suggest this. I will be returning and investing in something better.
