You know sometimes all you need to hear is a simple yes did worked out or did not. I tested out another one before and was too bulky, so he could not take any toy to his mouth. (So he was too frustrated and unhappy). With this one my baby is at less uncomfortable I mean my baby is not so happy having this head support around his face. But now he can still chew his toys or move his eyes. I feel ok now. I'd recommend you to make sure your car seat have room for this, in my case since he uses a convertible car seat I did not realized that the back of his seat has a cushion stuff in both sides so there is not plenty of room for this item.
A car seat product that my daughter actually tolerates! I've tried several other head rest, padding accesories, and this one is great. I have an eddie bauer one that takes up way too much room, leaving my baby (who's only 16 lbs. anyway) cramped in her convertible seat. Other horse-shoe shaped head rests didn't do the job. This one easily slips behind her head and allows her to fall asleep comfortably.
I bought one of these for my child and loved it so much I had to buy another one for my husband's car, too. Forget those foam horseshoe shaped things that are supposed to keep the child's head from flopping over. They don't work. This is a million time better. My child even has torticolis, and this works. I wish I had known about it from the get-go. You will love it, too. More importantly, your child we be much more comfortable when they fall asleep in the car.
I would recommend this product to all new parents. I have two preemies and this has been a lifesaver keeping their little heads from neck strain while sleeping or until they develop good head control. We have two car seats for each baby and we purchased four head supports. It washes well but after over a year of usage the pink one for my daughter needed some minor stitching.
I ordered this because most pillows for infants do not stay in place. This works excellent. It stays in place and holds the baby's head right were it needs to be.He can rest comfortly while riding.
I purchased this because my baby's head would constantly slump forward in her car seat. It has worked great so far and she doesn't really give me a hard time when she first gets in it. I am curious to see about summertime, since I did purchase it in the winter. I make sure her ears and hair are pushed back & that the fit is not too tight, but snug. It is different than others because it slightly cups their chins so they can't slump forward. I love it & wish I would have had it with my first!
I like the design of this product as it really keeps my newborns head from flopping around but my baby is not a fan. You can tell he feels like his head is stuck cause it's pretty snug. Compared to the ones I used w/ my other kids that went all the way around the head I like this one more & feel more comfortable since there is no cushion on the top part of the head that could slip down in an accident & cut off the babies airway.
This is a great product since it is adjustable and has no piece that goes down beneath the baby's back, which is a hazard in a crash. The only problem I'm having with it personally is that my car seat already has an adjustable head rest that cannot be removed and therefore when the two are combined, it's a little too snug, but better that than not supporting my newborn's head and neck. It's a great product that even my older kids can use on long trips to sleep with.
I purchased this product for a very specific reason. My 3 month old daughter was diagnosed with torticollis and I wanted this product to help keep her head straight. It was unfortunately to tight a fit for her car seat but turned out to be quite useful for the times when she was in her bouncer or her swing. I am a little disappointed with the quality as I noticed a small tear in one of the seams already. I would not recommend this product for a older child. It seems like it would be much too tight.
Needed support for my newborn's head because it would flop over in the carseat even with the supports that came w/ the seat. Even if I took those out to fit this product in it just didn't work. They are too bulky and don't really fit around his head well. That was my experience anyway...
