This product is great and much cheaper buying in bulk if you need a larger quantity. Best primer we have used for new construction and general purpose!! Walmart site to store was excellent and a better deal than the building supply store.
Great product. Very thick but definitely does the job. Heard many great things and was weary on trying because it was a few $ more but definitely worth it. Have been non-stop painting with Kilz for the past week [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
We use kiltz in the shower walls before putting up fiberglass walls ,we use kilz for everything before painting our kitchen has a lot of moisture being up north in michigan.Kilz helps prevent mold and mildew and works and looks great .would reccommend to everyone [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have used Kilz for everything in my home. From wood trim, doors, retro wood paneling, even hardwood flooring. It blocks literally any type of stain I have came across via which type of Kilz primer you select. It does have a very strong potent odor to it so make sure to have whatever you are painting well ventilated, I wear a mask and gloves when I use it. I give it a little extra air dry time before I paint over the primer. But it works like a champ, smells and stains vanish and I use less paint. A beautiful overall finish. Well worth the few extra bucks, you get what you pay for. Always keep a spare can handy.
My wife and I bought a nice house built in 1988, the house was nice but not the décor. Their idea of "nice" in 1988 was country theme wallpaper here and there thorough out the house, it was not our idea of "nice." When we removed the wallpaper, which was a trial in itself, in some areas we discovered it wasn't the first time the wallpaper had been removed, there was tears and gouges galore in the drywall, not to mention tons of glue from the wallpaper. The wallpaper that was original to the house was hardest to remove. My wife bought Kilz General Purpose mainly because the walls were porous and dry after we got the wallpaper off. We washed the walls, patched and sanded them, then painted on the Kilz General Purpose. It looked so good I didn't want to paint over it! When we did paint over it, it looked better than the areas that never had the wallpaper!!! We're very happy with the results!
It covers well so I only have to do one coat of paint. Feel better using the kiltz knowing stains won't show through. Well worth the money
We bought a 1950's home for retirement. The walls haven't been painted in years. This primer not only covers marks from the past but seals the walls to save on paint which as we all know is expensive.
I would recommend this paint. We used it to cover dark paint and it did quite well. Good price too.
I always use Kilz for my projects. There products are very good. The prices are reasonable as the cheaper primers do not seem to do the job as well. If you need a good primer, Kilz is the only brand to go with. No matter the project, this primer will the job.
After mixing thoroughly with a drill Paint had 1/4" size clumps that had to be scraped off the drywall.
