[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Brand new (to me!) home and first item of business, purchase and apply KILZ Original Low VOC Interior Multi-purpose Oil-based Wall and Ceiling Primer to every surface. We bought it in a 5-Gallon bucket and I'll be able to hit walls and ceilings and shelves wherever it's needed. The 5 gallon bucket is very easy to get into, I'd recommend a paint pour spout for easy pouring. We did one huge room and we're about 40% thru the bucket. We worked very, very well ventilated, and the next day there's just a slight lingering smell. I think if I keep the windows open the next few days it will take care of it. Really great coverage, I'm so pleased to have a fresh start in this home.

It worked to seal the plaster before I made the repairs, preventing the water based products from soaking into the plaster. Previous repairs made using 1-2-3 primer did not last long.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used this on every room but one in a house we flipped and our house. The paint on the one I did not use it on was noticing flawed. It took two more coats! The rooms that I used it on first then painted it, came out great! Smooth and beautifully covered with just one coat. Wouldn't try to paint without it. I also used a lot less paint when using this primer first to saving $$$!
Decided to paint over bright flowered glossy wallpaper with bright reds and blues. Walls had two layers of wallpaper with no primer or sizing on sheetrock. Chose to paint over rather than trying to remove. Prep work was clean wallpaper, then sand and spackled seams. Decided on two coats of oil based Kilz Oderless with 2 top coats of latex finish.
