[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased a home from a seller that was a heavy smoker and the walls were brown with tar & nicotine. We washed them with Windex, primed with Kilz interior primer, then painted. The bathroom was the biggest challenge due to the high moisture. You would never know there was a smoker in the house today. We owe it all to the Kilz primer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used Kikz on my 1990's kitchen cabinets to prepare them for a much needed makeover. It preformed beautifully and allowed me to paint the cabinets with a white paint. Best decision I've made in a long time
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this when I first moved into my home. The walls in the living room were all dark brown paneling that reminded me of the Brady Bunch home! Not to my liking at all! I wanted to paint them a light gray color but after researching I found out I should use a primer first. I researched and then researched some more and I was impressed with the 5 star reviews that Kilz Primer had. I am recently widowed, alone and had never done any painting of any type and I absolutely did not want to mess it up. Guess what? Kilz primer did the job perfectly and when it came time to paint I of course chose Kilz Paint as well! Perfect! I was amazed and very pleased with the great paint job I did by myself. I could not have done such an impressive job without Kilz! I am so glad I made the right decision by choosing this brand! No more brown paneling! The room is now bright and fresh! Thank you Kilz!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I always go with kilz for a primer. No other primer adds up. We got such a good paint adhesion thanks to kill!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The home owner had some water base kilz and i kinda knew right off and should have stopped but i would rather the easy clean up so i went ahead and used it to no avail today i used the oil base product and” BAM DONE “
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I renovated 20 units that were horrible and I swear this product we a life saver for me and my painters when it came to self life not getting to clumpy and make our lives so much easier as we got paid to flip multi family units and start off with a good base to create some of the prettiest turn overs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It has been more than 20 years that I painted all my condo walls and as of today 2024 the paint and walls look new. It's time for a new look now, I will be applying Kilz again to re paint the condo again.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a bucket of Kilz to begin to repaint our summer home. It challenge was, the walls were dirty from a wood burning stove. We initially attempted to scrub the walls with soap, degreaser and other cleaners but it really didn't remove much. So we decided to proceed with Kilz anyway. Much to our joy, it worked!!
KILZ Original is the BOMB! Bought a 50-year-old House (previous Owner 34-year Heavy SMOKERS). Farmer neighbor (who regret ever selling the .6 Acre plot from the front of his field) said he viewed the House before it went on the Market (said it needed TOO much Work, at his age). Anyway, tore out Carpets (KILZ painted floors), tried cleaning Walls (gave up – KILZ painted as well). Finally, tried cleaning Ceilings with concentrated cleaner (3x to get sooty brown cigarette Smoke off the surface in a 3x3 area – gave up, and had to KILZ paint the Ceilings as well). All we had to do at our previous House was tear out carpets & KILZ paint the floors. This house was a Job! Other than Kitchen & Bathroom (which my Wife & daughter insisted needed kitchen & bathroom paint), 100% of the upstairs interior is KILZ Original (oil-based) paint. Still have a couple gallons (for any needed touch-up in the future). That was last Summer. For CIGARETTE SMOKE – get KILZ Original (white) primer. It's the only way. r
Smell was so toxic I had to send my kids to a relatives house! I need to paint but I'm worried that smell will never go away. (Windows open, fans on, 2 air purifiers, etc) Would not have bought for my baby's room had I known how toxic it smells.
