I've been building fires in my fireplace since I married 47 years ago. I have my firewood delivered, but it is always a little heavier than we like and hard to get started even with a gas starter. This device allows me to easily split my firewood into any size want. A must have for anyone with a wood burning fireplace.
I saw this go on sale and jumped on it. I've been looking at them for some time. Glad I bought it, makes it easy and clean to split some kindling at the wood rack on the carport. After using a few nights with a carpenter's hammer I splurged and picked up a heavy rubber mallet to cut down on the noise. This does a great job, just as expected.
A friend had this while camping, and it just worked really well to split wood to the right size for our campfire. I used a 3lb short handled sledge and easily split pine, oak and mesquite.
Great tool for splitting small logs into firewood. The sharp blade and convenient configuration makes the job very easy and efficient.
Well made item that I plan on using for a LONG time. When I took it camping I had surrounding campers coming over to see and use it. Probably sold 4 or 5 because of it. Easy and safe to use! Happy with my purchase.
Bought about a month ago, been using it regularly and it's worth the extra couple bucks. Bought a cheaper one and broke it splitting Ash. This thing is not breaking anytime soon. Highly recommend
I have purchased at least 4 of these over the years, two for my husband and at least two (probably more) as gifts. Every person who my husband or I have shown this to has wanted one! It is actually addicting splitting wood with this! The construction is very sturdy and it is so easy and actually fun to use!
I had been looking at these for a long time and finally purchased one. I'm glad I did because it is well made. It is cast, no weld seams to break and heavy duty.
The XL size allows you to take most cut logs from a splitter and easily turn to kindling. I was shocked at the sharpness of the blade on this thing. I'm very happy with mine
Works as intended. Solid build and quality materials. Works great for making small kindling. I use a maul for most splitting but this is nice for dealing with smaller stuff
